Hi,
I live in Hamilton Sth NSW and there is one channel that has a problem, Channel 11 sort shakes or jerky and it is unwatchable,it never used to happen  but it does now. Has anyone got any advice on this annoying problem. My settop Box is a Beyonwiz twin tuner if that is any help.
Cheers,
DANN

DANN, do you mean TEN's recently added channel ELEVEN?  If so, ELEVEN has started going to air bottom field first lately, at least in areas run by SC10.  Every single other transmisison I've come across in Australia is top field first.  It shouldn't make any difference to what you see on the screen though.  If you pay close attention to the picture, does it look like the action on the picture could be described as jittering forwards and backwards rapidly?  If so it seems that your STB or TV (if HDMI) is not handling the field ordering properly.  A firmware update may be called for.

channel 10 and One are good. It is  like jerky movements and out of focus slightly and then for a moment it is normal but more jerky and out of focus with the movements. Thanx for enquiring,

Thanks for your message and yes your descrption is better than mine  " Jittering forwards and backwards rapidly" Now a dumb question , Beyonwiz updates every now and then automatically and even then it has been doing it,so how do I get a firmware update to correct it? Eleven used to be not a problem but is now grrr.

Check their web site for updates.  Contact their technical support.

If your TV is connected to the PVR via HDMI its possible that its an issue in the TV too.

Hello Again,
This is the reply from Beyonwiz "If it is only this channel or all of the channels for 1 network is a reception based
issue.   Cabling, antennas and boosters can all be a factor, but if its only effecting some
channels not all channels it is not likely to be a fault in the machine"

Is this a reasonable portrayal of what you are seeing?  Its played at half speed to make the effect more obvious.

Even though it may not be the problem and may not apply to your area, SC10 has switched ELEVEN to top field first again.  For what ever reason SC10 can't seem to decide field order and periodically changes it.  Check to see if you still have the problem.

SC10  Eleven Mid north coast.

Surely if this is a problem ,why do they do it this way?

Interesting to hear that another brand set had the same issue.  There isn't any particular benefit from encoding TFF nor BFF.  What is more concerning to me is that there are TVs and STBs out there, recent models at that, that can't handle something has fundamental as BFF.

HelloDrP,yes that effect is what is happening only on channel 11-it actually for the first time in months worked normal and then back to the shimmering effect goddam it! But how do I correct it ?
