My wife does my shopping. (Thats not to uncommon)

Thing is several pairs of Volleys she bought me were crap.
I was sliding down roofs that I normally would have no issues on and the rubber tread was shreading away .These volleys lasted little time.

Then she bought me some more .This time they were like the good old ones.

What was it ?

Check the label on the tongue.

Good ones say  "Volley International"

Bad ones say "Dunlop Sport"

At first glace they look very similar.

Also avoid Volleys with the Brown tread as this goes hard and looses its " rubber" grip becoming more like slippery plastic.

Interesting.  My KT-26s are still going strong - but I'm not on a roof much these days.

Most of the time don't need to go the volley route now just use some good workboots with tpu soles...   I use steel blue now and they're pretty good.

ps haveyou seen this they have their own site  http://volley.com.au/

I use the steel cap version of the volleys. Mine are the Dunlop brand however. The tread does wear out fast however.

That's interesting.  Just thought I'd post this because the old volley were awesome installer shoes, you could walk up anything, cheap and at one stage they had ones with elastic sides (easier to take on and off).  Ever trodden in dog poop in them?

Good rubber soled shoes from Rivers. They have a large lumpy tread which is good on Colourbond and painted tiles.
You can get these on special for $25.00 and they last fairly well.

i used the volley classics in the black colour upper which has a gum rubber sole on colourbond roof and they stick like $hit to a blanket.

I've found most work boots including the redbacks split down the seems with your foot a odd angles regularly.  I was wearing the Taipans that the fireys use but they weigh a tonne so I'm now using still blue and they work pretty well!!
