Thanks

The current Samsung models are only half way through their model life.

Samsung typically reveal new models at CES in Las Vegas in January each year. This then sees new models arrive on our shores around late March/April.

You might find that Samsung will get in another shipment before these go EOL - but maybe Myer have chosen not to stock anymore.

Does anyone have a receipt showing a price around $2400 - $2500 for one of these?

Clive Anthony recon the staff rate for these are $2900, but BBB are around $2600 $2700.

Any help with this would be appreciated

Hi Guys

Just wondering if I can do away with hdmi cable connection to this TV (to use as monitor) by using the wireless ability of this TV.

Is there a device or software to install to do away with the HDMI cable in the above instance?

Depends what you are trying to display on the screen. If it's your desktop of your PC, then no...you need to be connected.
If it's just to stream files off your PC and use the built-in media player then that should be OK.

Someone posted a deal with $2600 including 3 year extended warranty from a HN store.

Anyway I was at JB and GG shop looking at the 64D8000 this morning. Sales guys from both shops all mentioned motion blur in the set. The Panasonic VT30 next to it was more smooth. And I had to agree with them. Can anyone with experience with the set can clarfiy this "issue"? All reviews I have seen for the set do not mention anything about it. Maybe it is just the source? calibration? or some settings not configured properly?

I was in HN broadway both TV's side by side with cricket on and 6400 looked a lot better to my old eyes. There is a great thread on avs re calibration of the 6400

I showed the guy the forum post from here on my phone showing tv's alone for 2400, he then spoke to his manager and they said they would match it

Thanks for the reply. I went to read the avsforum.com. I think another guy experienced the similar issue.

http://www.avsforum....1320610&page=23

"I am curious what people think of the motion handling of the samsung plasmas vs VT30 in this case. Watching DVDs I often feel my Samsung plasma smudge like it can´t keep up which causes motion sickness. However I seem to be the only one in the world experiencing this. At first I just thought it was the sheer size but it´s still apparent moving 4 metre away from the picture that it´s not as stable as the other televisions I look at. Like there is some crappy shake camera at work?"

No black and white conclusion but my observation is confirmed...

Any comments welcomed.

I don't see this problem but I have turned off every possible picture enhancement functions off on this TV, plus image processing such as deinterlacing/upscaling are all done through my external video processors,  TV is used as a display even the internal tuner is not used as I
use pvr for DTV.

Put my sammy on the wall last night, looks good but would have preferrred black surround but the picture quality makes up for it. I tried the settings on avs and finally found one that best suited my conditions, that being I don't watch tv in the daytime. I'm very impressed with the tv and especially the ease of use of menus and settings etc.
The PQ is superb, especially noticeable coming from an LG which I thought was pretty good. The one thing that is confusing me is my oppo seems to be outputting 1920X1080PX60hz even though I have 24hz enabled but my panasonic bluray player outputs 24hz all the time, they both run through my 4311 and video is turned off so it can't be the 4311.
Does anyone know how to enable PIP? mines greyed out. In the emanual it says you can do it

Wow.. that's a good price.  I have been waiting for this set to drop to $2500.  Which HN store is this from?

Someone from forum bought the set for $2600 including 3 year extended warranty from HN a couple weeks back. I went to the chadstone HN and they said they would match it. So I assume the panel should be around $2400. But yesterday I was told it was currently out of stock. So $2400 could be a question mark again. But as time goes, it can only go down...

This is slightly off topic but still on the 64D8000 so instead of starting a new thread .... I am keen to find out if any owners have experiences with lots of pixelating and sound issues on some of the digital channels ?  I purchased mine around 6 weeks ago from JB in Chadstone and happy with deal etc. but had various issues on channels one, ten, nine and, GEM and SBSHD.  Initially it was just ch One and Ten so I figured maybe it was unique to the Ten network and my tuning but subsequently after going back and asking them if it was as known issue I purchased a signal booster and now One and Ten are fine but Nine is crap.  Major problem with footy season coming up.  I tossed up between this and the Panny and could not justify the extra cost for the Panny 65 even though the guys in the store and all my research online suggested it was the best available.  Bang for buck the 64D8000 still seems very hard to beat but I'm starting to wonder given the pixelation problems after 6 weeks.  I'm in Glen Iris, Melbourne and never had any pixelation problems on my last Panny 42" Viera.

Any other owners encounter this problem ? ... any recommended fixes ?
