STREET FIGHTER X TEKKEN!

Do I use my JB voucher and get it here in AU, or do I import from Asia and use the promotion code I got with Tekken Hybrid off Play Asia??

I have both but pretty much use the Xbox exclusively, my PS3 collects dust unless an exclusive title comes out that i'm interested in. Sievers81 is my gamertag on both systems, hoping my phone lines get fixed soon because the net is running at almost dial-up speed right now - i'd like to try ME3 multiplayer before it dies off.

Argh I noticed you've been playing a bit, as soon as I got the game I’ve only been able to play an hour here and there due to life getting in the way! Have only done Mars and the moon level to get Garrus back. Trying to avoid spoilers from friends and the net but its getting harder by the day especially after complaints about the ending and Day 1 DLC.

I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with the Vanguard right now. Played it as my main on the last 2 games but now playing on Hardcore it feels just a bit easy, I take a shotgun along just in case but honestly I’ve hardly even used it since Charge/Nova combo pretty much decimates everything so far.

Well I just picked up my ME Art Book today. I'm now downloading ME1 as I just can not get enough ME. I'm starting from the beginning again and working my way back to 3.

I've been on a little bit of a game buying spree lately (single male, what else am I going to do?) and ended up picking up King of Fighters XIII and Street Fighter X Tekken.

If I was forced to make the choice, it would be KOF13 ANYDAY of the week... SFxT is a broken unbalanced and frustrating mess of a game. It was nice that they tried to do something like this, but lets face it, it wasnt really going to work and now I fear for Namco's efforts. Also, can the whole spammy boss battle die already? A boss should be about difficulty and being a challenge, not having him throw 10 fireballs at you and then doing a super counter as you go in for a hit. Literally there have been rounds that were 50 seconds in before I scored a hit on the boss.

Another thing: DONT MAKE BOSS CHARACTERS SELECTABLE!! This is why they end up being spammy and cheap... what happened to the good days of unselectable boss characters?

Good news though - an email from PlayAsia confirmed that by the weekend I will have:
* Yakuza Dead Souls
* Silent Hill Downpour
* Silent Hill HD Collection

I'm way too excited to be able to make a decision as to what to play first, but I think it will be SHD (lets hope its patched by then!)

I ended up grabbing another 3DS. Finally there's some semi decent titles on it. Mario comes to mind. I also got my 7yo onto Mario on his DS and now he plays nothing but that.

I'm so disappointed with my HK haul

So far...

Ninja Gaiden 3 - too stupidly hard, I have no idea how to fight the bosses
Resident Evil Raccoon City - poor shooting game where you dont even know if you are hitting your targets, After dying in the same spot over and over and over and over again, I gave up
Ridge Racer Unbounded - Ridge Racer cars were always a little bit hard to control (a little) - but it was an arcade sim so you knew it wasnt always that bad - this throws that out of the window. Atfer 2 hours I havent done ONE SUCCESSFUL drift (powerside), its too bad because the destruction (Burnout) elements of the game are so fun
The Idolm@ster - is actually fun but since I dont know any Japanese I need my friend at my house to play this - and she really loves this game

Max Payne 3 for me. Absolutely brilliant game play. A fantastic story and a main character you really want to care about. The gun play is superb and it looks a million bucks.

Picked up Dragon's Dogma today so looking forward to giving that a burl.

Oblivion. Never played it before. I don't do online so frankly I don't care how old a game is.

Put about 8 hours into Oblivion years ago, just couldnt get into though.  Might restart the game and give it a second crack.  I just had nfi what was happening with the story :/.

EDIT:  Picked up Ghost Recon yesterday arvo and am looking forward to putting in a few hours this weekend.  Played around with the gun editing suite, which is great fun.

From the early impressions.  The uPlay thing that Ubisoft insist on is just plain weird.  Its like Xbox Live (or PSN maybe) within XBL.  You require a code that comes with the game to play online, which, for second hand games, would suck if the code has been used, or not present, although I dont know how much a uPlay code is.  Its also odd because I have entered one before for Assassins Creed, but it appears to require a code for each game.  I dont like it as its slow to load, and they have their own little achievements within the game, separate Xbox type achievements.  Its weird.  Anyway, thats a bit off-topic.

Im playing on veteran (the middle of three difficulties - im not an especially awesome gamer) and so far its pretty easy (other than a brain snap where I ran into a hail of bullets for no real reason).  The graphics are great, as to be expected from a big developer well into a console generation cycle.  The over-the-shoulder-view will take a bit to get used to.  Ive played all the Gears games, with the same view, and found their OOTS view to be quite intuitive and easy.  This OOTS view appears to be a bit further back and off at a higher angle.  I've actually found myself looking at the character on-screen thinking its a squad mate, then going "oh yeah, thats me".

I went through the first level, and at the end I saw I didnt get a really good score, and as a result a few weapons unlocks werent achieved, which might be a bit annoying, as the weapons unlocks and tinkering will be a big part of the game.

You can throw a sensor grenade into a crowd and it will identify enemies, which is useful occasionally (and the game basically tells you when to do it anyway), but they tend to become "unidentified" once the enemies move a bit, which seems a bit odd too.

The controls will also get a bit of taking used to, as they dont seem to follow the generally accepted FPS layout - I found myself jumping instead of crouching etc.

Will put a bit more up when I have another run.  I thoroughly enjoyed Advanced Warfighter 1 & 2, and have been looking forward to the next iteration for a long time now, so I hope it lives up to expectations/hopes.
