I use Firefox.  Whenever I want to check out the Austar Online TV Guide I have to login because the online guide doesn't 'remember' me.  I get around this by firstly going to My Austar Account and logging in there as Firefox remembers my username and password so no typing is required.  Then I hit the Launch Guide button and I am 'automatically' logged in to my online Austar guide.

For a while I had my "logged in Austar Guide link" in my bookmarks.  I would hit the bookmark link and automatically get to my logged in Online TV Guide Site.  However recently this has stopped working.

Is there an easy way to get to my Online TV Guide without having to login each time?

You might try Foxtel's TV guide. The shows are the same.

http://www.foxtel.com.au/TVGuide.aspx

Like most of Foxtel, it seems to work better than Austar. I'd like to Foxtel but I'm in an Austar area.

Cheers!

Thanks for the replies.  tvguide.austar.com.au gets me to the page OK but then I have to "sign in" each time.  I am in Queensland and you are continually adding or subtracting an hour to the broadcast times.  So by having direct access to my logged in Austar TV Guide gives me Queensland Broadcast times as well as the ability to be able to record from the TV Guide.

It would be so much easier if the TV GUide website 'remembered" me by downloading a relevant cookie.

Ah ok, i never logged in as i never needed to worry about the times being wrong.

Foxtel is so much better, the Iphone app is awesome for setting recordings.

Given that the form (or search underneath) is so poorly written as to not be able to handle a ' mark, asking for persistent logins is a tall order indeed.

Usually to get to the Austar Online TV Guide I log into my Austar account as Firefox 'remembers' my username and login.  Then I use the radio button to get me to the Online TV Guide.  As I have logged in via my account, I am eventually logged into my Online TV Guide automatically.

Yesterday I found that by adding my 'Austar logged Online TV Guide address to my bookmarks I could go directly to the online guide without the need to formally type in my username and login.

I tried it again today and bingo, with just one click on my Online TV Guide bookmark I can again go directly to my online TV Guide page.  This makes recording a lot quicker.

I am on the Sunshine Coast and have access to 62 and 63 for the two extra local channel 7 channels.  Unfortunately neither of these two channels are available on my Online Guide, instead I am directed to 72 and 73.  When I try to record these from my PC I am told the links are not available.

In a surprising twist of events, Austar has done something in a superior manner, IMO, to Foxtel.  Foxtel's web guide only shows nominal times (ie, the ones you'd see in the printed guide) while Austar's guide is live (ie it matches the transmitted EPG times and changes if they change).
