Hi, I live in a block with 18 flats. On the roof we have a VHF antenna on a 5 foot mast and a UHF antenna on a 30 foot mast. I would appreciate knowing if there is a digital antenna that can be placed on the 30 foot mast and thereby replace the existing UHF and VHF antenna.
Also, I understand that by using a digital antenna it can focus on channels 6 to 69.
North Melbourne has quite poor reception now with the new buildings at Melbourne University and along the skyline to the east and with the new helicopter pad at melbourne hospital causing helicopters to come in to land from over north melbourne.
Also, is there a way that residents can complain to the ACMA with the aim of getting a repeater in north melbourne? I heard third hand that a repeater was installed in south yarran and another in docklands.
regards
Mark

There is no repeater at docklands.. unfortunately as that would resolve a lot of problems in west/north melbourne.. you should get as many people as possible to write to your local member and also stephen conroy, the acma won't do diddly squat.

Yes, I'm in a block on abbotsford st in the dip.
Everyone in the block appears to have a dvb-t decoder of some kind. I think we're at a point in time where the analogue will not be missed.
It is important to get rid of the spikes caused by trams passing and so on.
Will one antenna on the mast enable us to remove the need for two antenna?
I'll PM you about a quote for the cost of putting a new digital tuned antenna on the 30 foot mast and replacing the two old ones. We have a man hole to the roof so easy access is available.
