Hey McD

Looking at that schedule, it looks like Ch 7 will only take ONE of the friday and sunday night games into the local markets, is that correct?

G'day DansDans,

That is correct, they're Fox Sports matches, that the local derby's are on FTA

Same will be for next week when Sydney meets Greater Western Sydney

How strange that there hasnt been a thread complaining about the lack of HD for both matches so far...!

G'day Perthite,

How strange is this? I'm pretty sure the laws say that they DONT have to be simulcast on the main channel, and last year during the pre season they weren't, so what's going on?

This has said to have been the case elsewhere with only the local derby airing on FTA when a Fox Sports match is concerned during the pre-season comp this year, however the 7mate guide currently has the 10.30pm NAB Cup replay on 7mate here in Sydney running for three hours and not just the one hour as would be the case if only one match was going to be shown. I hope it is the case that all three matches will be shown, even if delayed.

It's interesting as well because the weekly guide that came with The Sunday Telegraph here in Sydney last Sunday had ONE as actually broadcasting all three matches on replay in full from 10pm-1.30am. But now we know that Seven via it's HD digital-only channel 7mate are actually broadcasting it.

G'day cpandilo,

I would agree with you on a certain issue there, that it would make sense if all 3 matches were shown on FTA, but it seems last week the situation was that the local derby was the last match of the night, on delay from Fox Sports though, but this time, it's a local derby that's the first match of the night, without any other coverage, apparently.....I dont know why you wouldn't put all 3 matches on, instead of leaving the FTA viewers after one match and then they see the results on the news later

You'd want to know if your team got through, wouldn't you?

G'day,

It seems the replay on 7mate was nationwide, but quoted here as N.S.W, A.C.T. and Qld only, because the main Channel Seven didn't put it on at all

The Saturday night version though, is N.S.W and A.C.T. only

There was no replay on 7mate that I saw. I got home from the game just to catch the start of our comeback and thought I'd swap over to 7mate at 11.30 to watch us maul BrisVegas again and 7mate were showing some other crap at 11.30

This is a joke.  I really do hope the AFL make it complusory to show Friday night games  live.  And even if you live in Adelaide or Perth you are no better off.
