Hi guys,

I've owned my Sony 46" Bravia X-Series for a few years now (since 2007), specifically it is the (KDL46X2000) - the silver one with the floating glass border.

I'm perfectly happy with it. However, I am looking to purchasing a second TV, perhaps a 40" for another room.

In the current JB Hifi brochure they have a Sony Bravia (40" LCD Full HD Motionflow 100Hz Bravia Engine 3) for $996 that I am interested in [the exact model is not listed unfortunately].

Now, before I go and purchase, I noticed there was a Sony Bravia (55" LCD Full HD Motion 100Hz Bravia Engine 3 CCFL Backlight) for $1896 (but I think this might go down to about $1500) [again the exact model is not listed].

My thinking (as you do), was perhaps I could upgrade my current 46" TV to the larger 55". Then move my "old" 46" to the second room.

But before such a decision, would I be dropping in quality if I was to move from my current X-Series to the above 55"? (I know this isn't a fair comparison, but my X-Series was the top-line Sony, while I suspect the models above are not from the current Sony range {but could be wrong!}, but of course technology jumps in time). In otherwords, I don't want to buy a poorer quality 55" just because its bigger in size than my current primary TV.

Cheers.

Ray.
