Can they sell the "new"  optus over the "telstra/foxtel" cable , or satellite ? Or is it only in Optus cabled areas?

Anyone got HD on Optus Cable in Sydney yet ?

I am interested to know which FTA channels you get.

Specifically, do you get ONE HD   (or even a non-HD version of ONE) ?

I don't get ONE HD on Foxtel Satellite and with the F1 season up and running again, I am interested in going back to Optus Cable, but would hate to do so and find out I still can't watch the F1.

Yep,  have had IQhd from Optus on cable for 2 weeks now.  
Cable delivers FTA SD channels, but I haven't noticed ONE sd, definitely don't get any HD FTA channels.

I want ONE HD to watch the F1 live.   If Optus don't have it (HD or SD) then I might as well stick with Foxtel Satellite.

I am getting the typical issues with IQ with it crashing etc.

had a tech come out. He said, it is quite normal for this to happen once the disk gets full.

He mentioned soon in 1.5 months there will be IQ (1.5) coming out. Anyone heard anything? It should fix this problems.

There already is an "IQ 1.5"  - it is like the IQ1 but with HDMI capability. Sure he didn't mean the newest IQHD?

Yep. Foxtel was willing to drop my $52/month basic package with HD down to $31/month for 4 months

Just got Foxtel to install a 2nd IQHD box in the Bedroom for Free and their SportsHD package (all channels bar movies) for $82/mth + $10/mth for 2nd IQHD box.   3 month deal, no contract.

Will see what I can get in 3 months time.

Sounds like what Optus is is a rebroadcast of Foxtel Satellite. As in they probably receive the channels via Foxtel Satellite then rebroadcast them? Otherwise they should be able to give all the FTA HD channels over HD just like Foxtel cable does. Shame because i might as well stick with my Foxtel Satellite then....

As usual not the full service just like SD  channels took 6 months or longer to get on Optus

Is optus TVgoing over the foxtel cable now? My parents got a call asking if they want to connect. They only have foxtel cable there not optus cable (all underground).

Having bought a new plasma, and being frustrated at Foxtel via Optus only having analogue Scart-> Component connection (resulting in the blue channel selector screen being a bit blurred with artifacts around the letters), does anyone have any negotiating tips in order to get a basic IQ without having to pay them for it? I have had mobile/home phone/broadband/tv through the cable for 6 yrs at this address and feel ripped off if they now want me to pay just to get an HDMI connection and use their service more (if it goes well i might even upgrade to HD channels).
I can't get through to sales ATM so wondering if you guys had any stories of good/bad luck?
