edit: 538 klms actually
It's not like you're giving everyone your address so how am I supposed to find out the exact distance to your nearest JB ? 538 km is a lot to travel for one movie so I get where you're coming from.

I wasn't even referring to you personally - just a comment based on some folks I know. They work in Sydney's CBD and have stores located close to their houses. Could they be bothered to walk across the street in their lunch break or on weekends ? Nope. Are they obese ? Obviously ...

Whilst I understand your point, it is no excuse at all for JB's shoddy business practices ... just because their is a B&M alternative is no excuse for bad, nay fraudulent, service (and vice versa).

Can only laugh!
JB have just sent me an email apologizing for not sending the third title and suggesting I cancel if not happy - as they consider this the "free" title there would be no refund owing ... LOL!

I think I will email them and ask to change the free title to one of the ones they delivered, then they can refund me $15.95 for the one they have failed to.

JB have now cancelled my "Free" title without any notification at all.

I finally received notification of PayPal's "investigation" into JB HiFi charging my account for delivering 2 of the 3 titles ordered in their recent Buy 2 get 1 free promotion, and have started a new thread here.

I think the online ordering is managed through an office at Chadstone shopping centre?

The last impression I had, via their website "contact us" system, was that the store closest to the delivery address is now responsible?

Possibly. I would have thought it all comes from a central warehouse for online?

Don't know ... I suspect the convoluted system requiring the nomination of the "closest" store is part of their tactics to avoid addressing issues like this.

I have a semi solution why not ask someone here to go to a JB and get them for you

I know a few would be happy to do that and send them to you so you don't have the "headaches" next time they have a sale

Hi PLG1962, I don't think you have read the problem ... the thread is about JB hifi failing to ship the "free" title, putting it on back order, deleting it from order, then telling Paypal the order was complete so they could gain access to my payment.

Going to a B&M store is not going to help at all as payment has already been made by paypal for a title I have not received .... I've no intention of paying for again.

sorry I was going on a little tangent there as a previous poster said just go to your "nearest JB" and with you being so far away from one next time ask one of us to go to one and send you the discs you want

Not really a realistic option is it though. Imagine everytime you had to buy something you'd have to ask someone else. And then someone would have to pay for postage wouldn't they where it's free postage from jb. Sort of defeats the point of online shopping if it means someone has to go buy buy it from a store instead ...

Jb just needs to get their online shopping sorted if it's to be a means of business for them. That's all there's to it really...

and that is the point really. While a lot of peoples advice is well meant and in most cases we do all fix issues by going out of our way, the fact that JB (and others for that matter) provide services and sometimes provide them poorly does not mean the customer should have to spend their own time and money to fix what essentially is a problem the organisation providing the service should be fixing. After all we know all organisations make mistakes at times but it is how they recover those mistakes that keeps a customer coming back and using their service.

Amen to that!

OT
A case in point was my local Video Ezy shop last Saturday night which is the best video store I've ever used.

I prebooked 2 blu-ray movies for last Friday night, then ~1 week prior to the night I changed the reserve to Saturday night.
Oops! When I got there, they only had reserved 1 movie & it wasn't blu-ray. I only rent blu-rays.

So I am unimpressed & start thinking @#$%^ local @#$%^ video @#$% store. I knew it was too good to be true!
But before I can start being an upset customer, I get told I can rent any 2 videos in the store for free, & I got a free pass to the film that wasn't there.

We are talking renting 2 DVDs here, but it was treated like like I was their only customer.

Like I said, 'the best video store I've ever used.'

OR, like me you accept that JB HiFi is run by morons and only purchase from them when it is a better deal than can be had elsewhere ... and the truth is I would never call call myself a JB Customer, my purchases from them are soley mercinary in motivation .... hence I gladely spread the word when they screw up, time and time again.

Ultimately this (thread) does more damage to their business than their original act of incompetance.

So you would rather get stressed and moan about a company rather than spending a bit more and asking a "friend" to send it to you

I know that isn't really the point but I guess that is what it boils down to

And if everyone does the same the service can get worse.  Good businesses rely on complaints to become better businesses

Everything on this site is price driven. People don't gain wealth by spending...even if it is only $2.

I'm not stressed, nor am I moaning - you are making assumptions here PLG1962 ... to be honest I actually derive a fair bit of satisfaction and entertainment in pointing out businesses deficiencies ... if you find reading such things depressing and stressful I would advise you to stop reading.

As for the "ask a friend" solution you are so keen to repeat, it is largely irrelevant to my situation and we have covered this ground before.

Lol,maybe :) and they wont be advertising interal as there are no suitable candidates with in :D so feel free to send in your C.V. guys :) a bit harsh but i must say that my purchases from there have dwindled over the last few years and will continue to do so as a lot "i didnt say all" of there staff are either ill informed, arrogant, dont give a rats or just have NFI :) Pricing is definately a factor but definately not the sole factor in my lack of patronage.

Anyway im off to Big W's 25% off sale today so go stick that in ya pipe and smoke it JB lol like they would care about me,anyway enough from me im at work bored to tears and need to stop waffling on......... good night or is it morning :phone:

Cheers Ryan

You need to go into your settings and change it, you mustn't have it set to auto recognize daylight savings.
