So I vaguely remember that it was on Channel 9? Does anyone remember which nights it was on?

I think it followed Moonlighting for quite a while with Bruce Willis when it was on 9 from memory.

Saw that Nike ad on youtube also - DJ's still got it
They really need to bring back the original Crockett and Tubbs in some way - maybe a telemovie?

What's happened to 7mate - they don't seem to show it anymore?
I've watched my Season 1 and 2 DVDs & also got Season 3 and 4. I've watched most of Season 3 and a couple of season 4 - I can see why the first two seasons were considered the best. Not that it became crappy after season 2, but it just seemed to lose some of that magic of the earlier episodes & some of the light heartedness - became more darker and grittier.
Love it - as soon as I saw the famous 'In The Air Tonight' scene in the pilot episode, I knew I was going to love this show.

They have the final few minutes of the series finale on Youtube, but it will be interesting to watch the whole 2 hours to see the culmination of Crockett and Tubbs' decision to throw down their badges.
They never really explain what happened to Elvis the alligator did they? There's been some really funny moments with Elvis and Crockett.

hopefully 111Hits just keep it going in series and episode order with 2 eps a week until all 5 series air, and then start again at series 1
with so many channels, it really is a show that should air regularly on a constant basis in my opinion

Just read that Don Johnson will be returning to NBC for the first time since Miami Vice. He has been cast in the lead role of a show called "A. Mann's World", playing a 50-something straight Beverly Hills hair salon owner named Allan Mann, who is trying to "keep up with the times."
Should be interesting if there is some well-written humour and wit in it, because the humour was very well done in Miami Vice & he pulled it off brilliantly every time. No matter how many times I watch an episode, I still laugh again and again.

I wonder if they choose 'It's A Man's, Man's, Man's World' by James Brown for the theme music
interesting they chose the name Mann, after NBC, Don Johnson and Michael Mann were involved together with Miami Vice

Sounds like we'll have to wait a few months though before we see anything - I think they have either just commenced or about to commence filming, with a scheduled premiere in the fall in US (our spring). Hopefully one of the networks here will pick it up too. I really hope it works out for him - I know that he did a string of pilots for NBC before Miami Vice and they flopped, but Anthony Yerkovich insisted that he got the role of Crockett & that paid off, so I hope this one does too in some way. Won't be Miami Vice (far from it), but he's such a great actor and as long as he wants to and is able to act, then why not. It will be great to have him back on the small screen.

I'm more interested in Michael Mann's new HBO show Luck which will air this year
It features Dustin Hoffman and a very deep cast, with Mann directing the pilot

The series should air in September 2011 on HBO...

Don Johnson's new show has begun filming - some photos have been published online. He's back wearing trendy clothes and driving an expensive car again!

Hopefully the show will get picked up - they've got quite a cast line-up.
Re Miami Vice - I noticed on the Foxtel guide that tonight's epsiodes are Nobody Lives Forever and Evan (brilliant ep), but then next week instead of showing Lombard (the season 1 finale), they seem to go straight into the Season 2 premiere Prodigal Son (parts 1 and 2). Wonder if that's just so that they can screen both eps of Prodigal Son together?

Not good they are not going with episode order but you are probably right that they want to show both Prodigal Son eps together, which actually originally aired as a movie length double ep I think...same as series 1 pilot Brothers Keeper and series 5 finale Freefall
hopefully they show Lombard and next ep of season 2 the week after then stay in ep order
yes the Evan ep is quality...and Nobody Lives Forever has similarities with the Michael Mann film Manhunter, with the same actress Kim Greist and same tune called Heartbeat used in both
getting into series 2 now, the best of the 5 series, will be good to watch

Checked the Foxtel guide & this weekend they are showing Lombard, followed by Whatever Works. I love Whatever Works - not so much because of the main storyline (it's not one of the best), but because of the sub-plot of Crockett's Ferrari getting confiscated. It's hilarious how Izzy tries to get it back for him. And the scene on Crockett's boat with the guy from property, Elvis and Izzy is priceless.

I find it hilarious when he says to Tubbs in one episode, I think One Eyed Jack...
"Don't ever come up to my face like this again, detective!"
By the way I just realised there were 111 episodes of Miami Vice and I hope all 111 episodes will air on 111Hits!

I was watching the Miami Vice E! True Hollywood Story some time ago & Edward James Olmos had an agreement with the producers that he had creative control over his character. So a lot of what we see is his own influence on the character. He did a great job.
I hope they show all 111 eps! I still watch them even though I have the DVD's. I am currently working my way through Season 5 for the first time!

programming change...looks like 111Hits have dropped the Sunday morning episodes of Miami Vice, so its just Sunday night 10:30 pm to Monday morning 12:30 am on 111Hits and Monday morning 12:30 to 2:30 am on 111Hits+2...21 Jump Street Saturday morning eps are now Sunday morning in the old Miami Vice slot of 5-7 am on 111Hits and 7-9 am on 111Hits+2 and Macgyver replaces the Saturday morning 21 Jump Street slot...so 21 Jump Street still has the 2 different slots, now late Saturday night going into early Sunday morning and also the Sunday morning slot rather than Saturday morning and Saturday night...Miami Vice has just the one slot now of late Sunday night going into early Monday morning
one of last weekends episodes Tale Of The Goat is a very unusual episode, but quite a good one, I especially liked the atmospheric buildup in the intro with the 'phantom living' tune and the episode features a strange and fascinating performance from Clarence Williams III and a cameo from Mykelti Williamson, a Michael Mann favourite over the years...he was part of Pacino's crew in Heat and played Don King in Ali, and he was married to Olivia Brown(who plays Trudy in Miami Vice) from 1983 to 1985...also the other episode last weekend, Bushido, Olmos actually directed the episode
some quality classic episodes of Miami Vice upcoming, particularly May 15 with Phil The Shill (with Phil Collins) and Definately Miami (with Ted Nugent and Arielle Dombasle)...and May 29 with Little Miss Dangerous...and June 5 with The Fix (with Bill Russell, Bernard King and Michael 'Kramer from Seinfeld' Richards)

From Monday 5th September, it will screen on FOX Classics (Channel 114) at 11.30am (eastern time) every weekday (repeated on Classics+2 at 1.30pm).
They are starting on Monday with the pilot episode - Brother's Keeper (part 1).

good news at least its still on tv and 5 eps a week instead of 2
bad news is its gone back to the start again and not a great timeslot...10:30 Sunday was perfect
Im going to continue on with my dvds at the point where 111hits ended
I hope Fox Classics give it a night time slot, even 11:30 pm or 12:30 am would be better than 11:30 am
pretty ironic...the very moment I am typing this Mike Tyson is singing In The Air Tonight on The Hangover on channel 9!

Yep it's a bit annoying that Fox have gone back to the start of Miami Vice, but I'm glad because it gives me the opportunity to record the episodes I want & honestly I prefer the Foxtel recordings to the official DVD's for several reasons - I get frustrated waiting for the opening disclaimers, especially season 1. Also, the season 1 DVD's only have 3 eps per DVD, and if I record my own I can fit 4 per DVD. I also find that the volume level and sound quality is better on Foxtel.

by the way the Don Johnson show A Manns World pilot wasnt picked up so looks like wont be going ahead
but I did see him on Conan on Thurs promoting his new movie Bucky Larson Born To Be A Star where he plays a porn director
Michael Manns HBO show Luck will likely start Sun Jan 8 - the same day as new Californication series on Showtime
