It looks like they may have set a date for 7Mate for Darwin.

Freeview has suggested it is going to start on October 24.  No other confirmation as yet, but it looks very promising.

I'm really very pleased    This comes on top of GEM and GO! arrival in Darwin in less than a fortnight time.

If the Commonwealth Games end prematurely due to problems in Delhi, 7mate may well start earlier.

No they can't. A station has to stick with the timetable on which they originally made.  There's the arrangement of inserting local ads in the channel, plus getting the channel through either fibre or satellite or what ever it comes through.  Those things don't happen overnight.  If history is any guide Darwin had to wait for 1 month after the debut of 7two after the national launch, and the commonwealth games were not even on at the time.

I'd be very surprised if the Commonwealth games were called off.

OK. Was just hoping for you that you would get 7mate a bit earlier. After what has happened the past two days, the Comm Games are looking shakier though.

See http://www.ntnews.co...821_ntnews.html for confirmation but some of the information on NT News is not correct. It says GEM will be on LCN 99 the same LCN as GO? Some of the info in NT News article is not correct.

See the comment section on NT News on http://www.ntnews.co...821_ntnews.html for further proof the NT News is really misleading. I saw the TV guide today and it says 7Mate with programs even though it is not due to start until October 24

There is now a placeholder on SCTV HD LCN 70 saying 7Mate will start at 6 am Sunday October 24.

7Mate has started with programs starting now.  

7Mate now ensures Darwin is on par with most eastern regional areas with the complete Freeview suite for now bar community channels found in big capital cities.
