Shamelessly plagiarised from Steve Eastwoods' newsletter:

"Yamaha have announced the successor to the RX-V3900 (the current receivers in Chez Neil) it's called the RX-A3000 (140 Watts X 7) and has 8 HDMI inputs (one front), two out with inbuilt webpage for net control. It'll have four zones and supposedly better audio than the 3900 (that'll be tough given the price remains at $2499). That's due in October. There will be two lesser models, the RX-A2000 (130 Watts X 7) at $1999 and the RX-A1000 (105 Watts X 7) at $1699. The audio circuitry in the 3000 is way above those in the 1000 and 2000 so the power outputs don't relate to the sonic abilities of these receivers."

8 HDMI inputs, 2 outputs AND Webpage control!!!

I want one!

I wonder if that means Steve has broken a Yamaha embargo?  LOL! He'll get sued by them next!

Then they'll sue me for posting it to a forum  :o

Still want one though!

A world exclusive fro DTV's Multi-Channel Audio Systems sub forum!

Sign me up for one!

So where does the 3067 fit in, is this the aussie version of that, or different?

Looks to be the same thing according to AVS:

Not sure about the new design ... a little too Harmon Kardon for me I think - will have to see it to get a real idea

I really like the look of the one with the silver/aluminium lower front face, after seeing that it was one of the reasons I held off getting the cheap 3900.

Yeah I don't mind that scheme as I didn't when HK did it, but we don't usually get any other color than black in the upper end  yamaha avrs

PRO20B thanks for the link.

Interesting to note that the A2000 has the same 8in-2out HDMI and similar functionality to the A3000.

Will give serious consideration to A3000 once the prices have settled down.

Not interested in 3D TV but the other features do appeal especially the additional HDMI inputs and the second HDMI out (thinking of adding a projector).

Hopefully the prices won't be an marked up as the new Onkyo' s TX-NR808 is RRP AU $2699 but is US$1099 from the Onkyo shop!!

Good to see Yamaha has appeared to address  the criticisms of the 1065 and 2065 including a  good weight gain.

Pricing is also good - not the rip off we get from the local  Onkyo and Denon distributors.

Prices are up on the Yamaha US Online Shop
RX-A3000 = US$1,899.95
RX-A2000 = US$1499.95
RX-A1000 = US$1099.95

Availability is Mid-September according to webpage.

The manuals are available from the product pages but you need a Yamaha Easypass logon to download.

Do you think Yamaha will ever use Audyssey? I've owned a few yammy amps in the past but now I'm leaning towards Denon etc simply because they have Audyssey processing. The Yammy amps are still sexy and feature packed as ever though!

I've been looking for a receiver with a web interface. Do you regularly use the web page interface to control the 3900, or just to set up?

At the moment my plan for the new house is to use the RX-A3000 zone 2/3 to drive remote speakers and an iPad running Safari Web browser for a wireless remote this to control. Is this realistic?

Cheers,
ALH

From what I have read, Yes ... that would fit the intention of the system

The RXV1067(not RX-A1000) is now up on Yamaha,s website RRP is as quoted above , shouldnt be too long before we see the rest of the lineup. The 1067 looks a big improvement over the 1065 it replaces. The 2067 should be the sweet one though, looks like that will be slightly downgraded 3067, whereas the 1067 seems more of an upgraded RX-V 767

I just had a look at the website and noticed they have taken the rx-v1067 down for some reason.

It can still be accessed though using the direct link.

Seems everyone is confused, Rio are doing pre-orders on RX-A series, Clef are advertising RX-1067,and Yamaha dont know what they are doing.

Well, I just bit the bullet and bought one of these bad boys today. It was a no brainer really - I wanted an AVR which had a fifth leg....  no other AVR offers that marvelous technological innovation   ...... I was also absolutely stoked that it came with  a"free" iPod dock worth $179 bucks... shame i dont own an ipod/pad/phone.....

I was looking at the Marantz which is just a Denon in a different skin.... but the Yamaha I think leads the pack in features, looks (with the possible exception of the Denon.... err... sorry, MARANTZ SR7005), and its technology.

People MUST be buying the Aventages because the shop I was in had run out of 2000's, had only a few 1000's left, but had a stack of 3000's.

Once I work out how to set the sucker up properly, I'll report back.

But so far, movies and music sounds a tad brighter than my old (3 years - OLD???) Yamaha, so I guess we're on the right track.

PS, I long for the day when we have voice command setup so I dont have to press 4,369 buttons for setup

"AVR - play BD, PLzII, volume 75%, no DSP"

;-)

Any one know what is the going price (Market) for YAMAHA RX A2000 and RXA3000 please?
