Hello all,

I have only been a member for a short while but it is obvious to me that there is an enormous amount of knowledge and talent amonst the members in here (makes me feel like a dummy   )

I currently have a few websites up and running - (still very much work in progress ok) - they are focusing on 3D Consumer Products, lol most of which are not yet on the market (I like to be ahead of the pack  :D ). One aspect I want to improve with my sites is quality information and opinion ( aka reviews) - where better to obtain an excellent qualified source than in here. So I have a self interest but I am sure it could go well beyond that.So you know what type of content I currently have you will find one site is linked in my signature - you will find the others in the partner sites tab in the site footer.

Now aside from me there must be many website owners out there that would like to be able to post some of the quality information found in here (I know some), even other forums around the world. I don't think we can talk syndication here (well not yet anyway). Even some online electronics magazines may be interested in reprinting some reviews / articles from members of this forum, who knows.

So I figured starting this topic to see what you authors think. First and foremost permission by you as the author has to be forthcoming - if anyone has any special conditions then they need to be stated.

Maybe as time goes on and if this idea is adopted by the majority then maybe the admin of this site may be able to put a tab in the posting frame section that give a yes / no permission to reprint which would show an appropriate statement at the bottom of the post (more work for admin ^_^ )

Please give me your thoughts firstly on the idea and any input as to how we (I'm not doing it ALL myself  :D ) can effectively corrolate reviews / articles with some sort of coding system that would copy the post to an appropriate archiving folder ??

looking forward to comments.

cheers, Mike

I'm not aware of this type of approach having been mooted, of reviews on this forum being marked as available for publication.

(I do sometimes wonder whether magazine authors get ideas for a technical article from topics discussed on this forum. I've even wondered whether some magazine authors from time to time go so far as to post queries in this forum in order to elicit responses that might assist them in preparing an article.  If they did, they'd have to exercise judgment in assessing the accuracy of the responses!)

Most of the comments on 3D products made to this forum are very informal, and to be found in a part of the forum you are already familiar with, Digital TV Receivers & Related Products > Flat Panel TV Screens > 3D TV.  Perhaps if you find a post there that you consider could form the basis of a website review of a product, you could PM the poster for permission to use it.

Another way of course would be to open up your relevant website to reviews of 3D products being posted by the general public. Or at least "comments" on products. Cheers.
