Bring Back "channel Eight"

It's not a proper full channel nine station here in Darwin anyway not even without GO! anyway. If PBL Media wanted to keep the name NBN in Newcastle, surely it won't hurt for PBL Media to rebrand Channel nine darwin back to channel eight like back in the old days.
It's more of a regional station anyway a and I just want to see the name "Channel Eight" brought back. Then the LCN will be reset to 8, 80 for HD and 88 for GO!
Channel Nine should be for Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth, not Darwin. If NBN can keep the name under PBL Media surely it won't hurt to call for the name "Channel Eight" to be brought back here.
NBN has true identification for a particular region ie Newcastle but NTD in Darwin has no true identification for a PBL media station.
If people from down south see channel nine in Darwin, they assume it is the same channel nine with the same service, which it is not. If a particular station with the network serve different services to that particular area then the station should be named differently to other stations especially in a regional area.
It will ease the confusion if the name "channel eight" was brought back to Darwin as to not confuse the name "channel nine" with the stations from Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne. That way different names would mean different services in one area owned by the same owner (PBL Media)
The rebranding to Channel Nine Darwin in 2003 was a huge mistake and they should have kept the same name throughout so that there would have been better clarification of difference of services to different areas.

What difference does calling it 8 or 9 make? its cheaper to call it 9 as the promos are stock standard for the network, why would it make sense to re-brand everything back to 8? it wont be changing.

However TV transmitters transmit their own identification called a logical channel number so it will have to be either 9# or 8#
The "Nine Network" only owns TCN Sydney, GTV Melbourne, QTQ Brisbane, NBN Newcastle & northern NSW coast and NTD Darwin.

If they cannot name it "Channel 8", could they make the logo NTD with the 9 dots beside "NTD" in a similar fashion to the current NBN logo?
Or maybe they can add 'DARWIN' to the 9 logo with dots so that people can see the difference? If they don't want to change the logo, maybe they should add 'DARWIN' to the channel 9 logo, for better clarification.

Darwin could be added to the 9 logo but any changes to the basic setup would come out of NTD's budget, its unlikely they would bother, there are station promos which are darwin specific, you know the ones that have the palm trees, beach... these arent shown in the south/east

Are you for real? You say some silly things sometimes, but this takes the cake. You really do not bring any substance to this forum. You would be right at home in Disneyland becuase we all know what you propose would never come true!

DEF1 (was ABC)
DEF2
DEF3
DEFHD
TCT1 (was SBS)
TCT2
TCTHD
Eight (was Nine)
Eight HD
Stop (was Go!)
Equator (was Southern Cross)
Equator HD
Twenty 6 (was 7TWO)
Zero HD (was One HD)
Eleven (was TEN)
On second thoughts ... that idea is very confusing!!!

Oh dear ,Oh dear ,Oh dear
There's no pleasing some people.( I'm sure that's what Jesus said somewhere)
Down here on the mid north coast every second person complains why NBN isn't on 9 instead of 8 ,why prime isn't on 7 instead of 6 and why ten isn't on 10 instead of 5
moan ,moan ,moan
I give them the old rant about why LCNs are set up the way they are, their eyes glaze over and they shut up and ask no more questions
