Fox Sports chooses to provide only 2 channel audio from their production facility to Foxtel. Whereas the Olympics channels have nothing to do with Fox Sports, they are provided from the London OBC and are provided natively in 5.1 audio.

Isn't it annoying how digital broadcasting standards are ignored in Australia - Roll on NBN.

Do foxtel show everything that channel 9 show too or do channel 9 have exclusive rights to some events. I recorded atheltics this morning hopin g to see mens 100m heats but can't seem to find it in the recording. All this time I haven't even bothered to switch over to channel 9 because I assumed foxtel show everything plus more.

Edit :my bad I didn't tape the morning session doh

I watched all the mens 100m heats on fox. I wouldnt think theres anything on 9 that isnt shown on fox.

Not sure if it will help but i use this guide

Watching the Men's double trap shooting final replay now, it's the best 5.1 audio (for a sport) i've heard since joining Foxtel.

The super slo-mo's of the discs being shot to pieces look great, even if the HD picture isn't the best around..

Couldn't agree more, Ralfi. I found myself watching a stack of the shooting for that very reason!

Production standards of the broadcasts have been absolutely first rate (as you would expect). I've been absolutely stoked with the coverage of this Olympics that Fox has served up, particularly given the rubbish served up on nein!
