350-399 are default LCNs for broadcasters not transmitting an LCN of their own.

O.k thanks guys....I seem to  be picking up Gippsland better here in Doveton than I do with the local channels. Could that have something to do with me being so close to Mt. Dandenong?

Includes Illawarra (Wollongong) channels, if you can't get 'em then ignore multiplex 5,6 & 8.

Winston,

this is great !
I've just gone digital today with a 42" HD plasma and all these channels were so confusing... until I came across your table

It's slightly out of date now, here are the differences:
22 is not ABC VPG it's ABC SD.
48, SportsTAB has been removed.
50, SC10 HD has been added
60 is now Prime 'HD'
61, 62 and 63 are Prime SD.

These channels will most of the time reflect what is on LCN 6, but will sometimes show different programming to LCN 6 when a program is on LCN 6 that has different camera angles, or a program with a screen that has statistics in it.

Not that that has happened since Rugby World Cup 2003 on Prime (or did they give that a miss too?).

They answer you're looking for depends a lot on what model the thing is. Also, when you say channels over "40", do you mean frequency style channels, or logical channels? And when you post your question at the above link, mention where in Oz you are. That could be important too, depending on your answer to the immediately previous question.

LCN 60 will switch to HD when there's native HD programming being shown, otherwise it redirects to the SD stream.

Channel 9's centre frequency is actually 191625.

Not possible with a digital set top box.

You need to add LCN 55 for SC10 viewers, 66 for SCTV Tasmania viewers, 77 for SCTV Darwin and 99 for SC9 Adelaide

These new channels are all called "My Talk"

Updated, not sure how exactly to format it in due to the different LCNs though.

For viewers in Sydney I notice that Macquarie Digital (channel 47 on Digital 44) no longer exists and it is just the standard Welcome To Digital 44 screen. Not that I am crying much over it as I never really watched it but it is still a shame to see less than more for those that want choice.

It's riveting mate

Channel NSW
The Australian Christian Channel
Expo - A World On Show
ABC news headlines (text only)
Wecome to Digital 44 main screen
The Parliament channels
Channel Guide - this is actually very good and useful for seeing what is on every channel without having to flick to each channel and viewing each channels EPG especially Channel 10's that always seems to start at midnight the night before even though the shows have already been on, its infuriating.

Actually Maquarie Digital was not around when D44 first started it was added later so in effect we have just returned to how the service was when it first started

How many digital channels can brisbane pick up?

Ive notice when i did the digital scan it pick up all channels but notice there was 4 multible channel 7 channels.. one qas call Channel7 HD  then the ather was call Channel 7 digital1    then channel7 digital2... so on.

Also i wonder where do they actually show the australia scanery?  when i was out there looking at plasmas they play channel7digital australia scenery... i havnt seen that yet on my digital channels on my plasma.
Unless that is when you get drop out from digital you receive repeats of the australia scenery with music background is this true?
