okay I must have been thinking of SCTV Central which goes by Qld time when other states are on daylight saving.

SCTV Central and Imparja always operate on QLD Time while SCTV Darwin, DDT and Nine Darwin operate on NT time.  NT time is 30 mintues behind QLD time.

Yay! the first commercial digital only free to air channel for Darwin! Finally you guys get some new channels.

So far so good!   with local Darwin ads and subtitles for most programs - existing programs from 7 / SC on primetime (if not all) I couldn't be any happier   Impressive

Even saw a news update for Darwin from SCTV during ads even on 7 two.

has the bitrate of the sctv hd channel or sd channel dropped or is it the same? darwin has done well getting 7two... perhaps they will rename sctv back to 7?

Same as far as I'm aware.  looks clear to me, no messy screens.  Not sure if they will rename it back to 7 Darwin or keep it as southern cross darwin.

BTW  My talk used to exit on LCN 77 - after mytalk was closed, LCN 77  was a copy of the main sd channel on LCN 7, now LCN 77 is gone and replaced by LCN 72 where 7 Two now transmits.

Apparently its only 720p in southern tassie (apparently due to lack of bandwidth). I was told the north still has 1080i but no one has come up with evidence of this as of yet, or any bitrates in the north for that matter. In the south, SCTV HD is currently running at 8.77Mbps, 4.1Mbps was taken from the HD stream to run 7TWO, and the main SD channel running at 5.57Mbps which leaves roughly 3.33Mbps of null packets which can't be used for the HD channel due to the reason above.

I can probably get the bitrates for Darwin if you want... what software do you use to get those figures?

Try TS Reader lite using the BDA-T driver.

Ok, here we go:

SCTV HD: Current Bitrate 11.25 Mbps - Resolution 1440x1080i
SCTV Darwin: Current Bitrate 5.44 Mbps - Resolution 720x576i
7Two: Current Bitrate 4.11 Mbps - Resolution 704x576i

I hope I read that all right...
