Watched Samsara tonight - excellent visuals and intriguing audio .. very easy to watch, but at the end we both agreed that Baraka had more "WOW" factor.

I also have the Quatzi trilogy sitting there, so that will be an interesting blast form the past given I have never seen them on a big screen

Word around the net is that the epic blockbuster based on the New York Times best-selling novel written by David Mitchell won't arrive on Blu-ray now until June.
As previously reported, Warner Brothers scheduled 'Cloud Atlas' for Blu-ray on February 5, but now it seems the movie won't hit Blu-ray until June 11.

Saw Schwarzenegger's The Last Stand for the second time today. GREAT Fun in the theatre. Cant wait to rock this at home. Arnie's back and the soundtrack will pump with the thunderous vehicles and shoot outs.

Not a movie, but the first season of The Newsroom on BD is being released on 11/6 in the US. Available now for preorder at Amazon. For those of us who crave anything written by Aaron Sorkin, yet refuse to give money the Murdocracy that is Foxtel, this is nearly as exciting as the release of The West Wing on BD, if that ever occurs.

Noticed yesterday that this had actually been been released in Australia last week, so I cancelled the pre-order and ordered it from JB Hifi, should get it today. Pays to keep your eyes open - hopefully they haven't released a dodgy version over here.

ETA: saved myself $10, everyone's a winner.

I was looking forward to the Aus release of Sleepless In Seattle (I know....chick flick alert), but the PQ is quite woeful. I think the older titles/releases that are exclusive to Aus and/or EU, are really lacking in technical merit.
I will watch this at some stage, but after a quick sneak peek, I am in no hurry to savour it's supposed HD wonders!

OZ The Great and Powerful.
I cancelled my 3D US order because of the lack of the 2D version in the same presentation and ordered the UK version which sports both, though with a release date a few weeks later.
I hope that the UK version has the same specs! This review is quite exciting!
