the current deals:

1. JB HiFi - $494 including HDMI cable

2. HN - $499 + free game

3. Game - $479 flat

4. EB - $499 flat

any opinions?

HN deal is the best so far. Someone has even mentioned that you can select ANY game, but best to check with the actual store.

Still waiting so see what Toy'R'Us and the department stores will do. Big W and Kmart may be even cheaper.

Yup, I would wait and if nothing better comes along, grab the HN deal!

I'd be interested in upgrading my 40G PS3 I got in the Sony TV promo.

EB usually runs some kind of swap.

If the swap isn't too good, I may just hold on to the old one. The kids can use it on the old CRT.

$130 for 500G HD. Looks like PlayTV is ready to rock & roll.

How expensive is this game.. shesh.. Gonna have to put down a preorder for it. Will prolly get the Hardered Edition from EB.

$499 for PS3 Slim + Resistance 2 OR Batman: Arkham Asylum.

Great deal if you wanted these two games. Beats the HN deal now.

true. Best at the moment, but i m sure they will all start to better each other or at least match until the last moment.

Already have assurance from my local Myer guy that he will match whatever deal there is and even better it. I m definitely going to him.

Was just at HN at QV.  Originally the guy said any game under $70, but later said I could get Infamous if I wanted.  Extra 4 years warranty was $79 (normally $99) and 10% off accessories (extra controller etc).

why would you buy games to 'maximise value'? I buy games to play them, not brag on the internet about how much money i saved.

just thinking about resale value. altho if it is being given free, there will b a lot flooding the market, which would bring down the resale value

Doh! Just found out the deal is actually:

So this or HN deal are the same.

Has anyone been able to get this confirmed with DSE?  The website still says $499 flat and I just went in to the Swanston St store and the guy knew nothing about it.  He wouldn't even try to match HN's offer, told me that he couldn't do anything until they were released and if I could pre-order somewhere else "it was probably a good idea to go with them".
