I have had this on order for yonks (US version is way too dear) and the amazon.uk page states 5 discs. Zooming in on the box art reveals a "70th anniversary 3 disc collectors edition". Hmmm. Anybody else interested in this old classic?

Have preordered with the Wizard of Oz, waiting to see if has all features of US version before deciding which way to go as don't really want all the extra ' extra' stuff. |

I am hoping that 3 discs means the movie on 2 and the special features on the other. The PQ my 4 disc DVD edition is fantastic (for DVD). I have high hopes for this release (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |

Heres hoping the UK version has all the documentary features on US blu-ray so don't have to pay for the extra 'fluff'. |

Two versions the five disc and a 'standard' edition. Looking at the cost prices it'll go for $65-$70 here |

Has anybody got their copy yet? The reviewers are raving about it. I received my UK copy of the Wizard of Oz yesterday and first glimpses show a great PQ, but not the definition I was (probably unrealistically) hoping for. Wondering if GWTW is the same. Any comments much appreciated.

Does anyone know if the local version will be the same as the 2 disc UK version? It is advertised in the latest JBHIFI catalogue but the cover art does not look like the UK one.

From all my research around the traps, it would appear that the Aus version is one disc only. All the special features are on the 2nd disc of both the UK and US releases. This could be why it is so reasonably priced down here. The UK version of the Wizard of Oz has 3 discs, while the standard singalong version we get here is only 1 disc. Might be worth a phone call to JB (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mellow.gif) |

From all my research around the traps, it would appear that the Aus version is one disc only. I saw the single-disc version at JB in Bourke St this evening, and right next to it was a larger box with a staff-written sign on it "3 DISC Blu-Ray EDITION". It's out locally. |

Under $25.00 at my local BigW and they have several. (Single disk I think) I nearly got it but couldn't figure out the aspect ratio. I thought the movie was one of the first Cinemascope?
It's out locally. This post has been edited by miata: Jan 3 2010, 05:26 PM |
