Got one of these yesterday (they swapped it for my dodgy Grundig unit) and I've been playing around with it. The instructions for deleting recorded programmes don't seem to work. I get up the programme list, mark the items for deletion (as per the instructions), hit OK and get the message that I can't watch the item as it's about to be deleted. It isn't. I hit EXIT and the menu goes away. When I turn the thing off I get a message saying that there are items marked for deletion and would I like to delete them. I hit YES and the thing switches off. Next time I turn it on they're all still there. Will I have to reformat every time I want to delete something? Why can't stuff just work?!?!

This PVR is very similar to the Wintal PVR2HD.  With the Wintal you bring up the listed recordings with the HDD button, arrow up/down to the recording/s you want to delete marking them with the red button.  Once marked hit the exit button and you get a confirmation screen then hit the OK button.

Hi.  I have the same PVR and it does the same thing.  You mark the program for deletion and when you exit, you confirm deletion.  But when you bring up the list, your program is still there.....Snakeau, did you find an answer for your problem.  I see DGTEC have a support number you can call.  I will try that tomorrow.

It's a Dgtec, their designers would not have expected that someone might want to delete programs.
Return it and buy something half decent, ie. anything else.

For example: http://www.aldi.com....s/2827_8312.htm

Ok to delete the programme follow the previous advice but when ask if you want to delete the programme don't shift to the ok button just leave it on the cancel button and click ok
this should give you a quick progress bar showing you it's actually deleting the file.
I know, I know, logic and every computer known to man likes you to confirm with an ok button but this piece of crap is neither logical or useful.

I brought this piece of junk late last week and will be returning it for a refund or an upgrade to something that works.

In the time I've had it, it only seems to keep about 10% of the shows I've tried to record. Each day I would record 4 random shows at different times and different channels and at the end only have one of the show left to view.
The rest somehow simply just don't get kept, you can see them being recorded but they disappear along the way.

Does it have just one recording folder or several? Could the other programs be in another location?

I've looked for other folders but couldn't find anything and in the hdd section that shows you details of hd capacity etc nothing but the one file it decided to keep.

Taking it back today so if I don't get any problems doing that and manage to exchange it for say a Topfield then I'll be happy.

After using my new DG-HD320PVR for a week now, all seems perfectly normal with all operations, including deleting recorded programs. The EPG is accurate, recording setup is easy, deleting works....so far, all good.

Can I suggest that if you are buying one, make sure you buy the new model as on DGTEC's website.....NOT the old DODGYTEC model as sold at JB's currently. The new model is quite different in all ways to the old one. I got mine from H/N at $395 plus $49 for a full 5 year warranty.

I was having this same problem and sent of a nasty email to Dgtec and received a reply the next day from their Product Development Engineer.. when you have marked the show you want to delete with the X next to it you then hit the "EXIT" button..Why I dont know...surely you would hit the OK button, but no, its the EXIT button..
Then it will say Warning. There are items with delete flag. Do you want to delete them? and "OK" will be highlighted, however with the color font they use, it looks like its the "Cancel" option that is highlighted...
You just hit "OK" and it deletes the file..
Try it.

I was making the mistake of thinking the "Cancel" option was highlighted when in fact the "Ok" option was.

Here you go, just moved to my other computer to cut n paste the email...

Hi there David,
Please try the following prompts and keep me posted on the outcome.

-Press the MENU button
        - Scroll down to PVR SETTINGS and Press OK
-Select RECORDED FILE LIST and press OK
                        - Select the files you wish to delete by pressing the RED button. A cross will be marked
                          next to the selected files.
                       - Press the EXIT button. A message will appear to confirm your request. Simply press                        the OK button again. Your files will automatically delete.

Give this a go and let me know the outcome.

Cheers
