Looking good drizt the curtains finish of the room nicely, have any other plans for the room?

The room is pretty much done now... well might paint the roof at some stage, and add a center channel etc at some stage.

Its time to sit back and relax for a looooooooong time.  Jen has said no to any more updates for the foreseeable future.

The room looks great Drizt.

It's a pity you didn't have the speakers installed to better determine their acoustic effect.

True.  To be honest I have my doubts that the bass absorbers or curtains will make a large difference.  And I guess now Ill never know for sure.   I look forward to the day that I get to fire everything up and just sit back and enjoy the show.

Christmas(ish) for me - i've ordered the MT3Fs so luckily a production batch had already been started when I laid my hard-earned down  B)

Charcoal is my colour preference so (again) lucky for me that was the colour scheduled for the current batch  ;)

I'm looking forward to a demo of the matching centre when it emerges from the SGR magic shop

have a good think about painting that ceiling.
I was all ready to do mine, and then sitting here, i thought, it's going to look too damn dull and dreary in here, so decided against it.

If you use it for more then just a HT room, i would advise against it mate. Sure it will help with PJ's but think about how dull and lifeless the room will look

Your probably right mate.  It was just an initial thought, but on second thoughts, it probably isn't required.

I almost threw out the bass traps today..... :(

But the wife would not let me... thank god she didn't, and she came up with a fantastic plan to save them.

What was the problem you ask... well it was my much loved cats.

Apparently they find them to be an ideal scratching post *rolles eyes*.  Being foam, the cats make extremely short work of them, ripping them to shreds.

So we went to spotlight today and bought some lace curtain material to surround the bass absorbers... in an ATTEMPT to stop the cats from ruining them.  We haven't let the cats out yet, but time will tell if it works... fingers crossed.

I know ... I know... but I love my cats.   They have their faults, but they can bring so much joy.   To be honest, I would get rid of my entire system before getting rid of the cats.

We too love our cats and have the occasional scratching issue.  Try taping some loose aluminium foil to the affected areas - most cats hate the sensation/noise of touching it.  Keep the tape at the top - it's important that the foil is hanging loose and can make a noise if disturbed.

Yes, it probably won't help the acoustics or the WAF, but you'lll probably find you can remove it once the furry ones have had the habit broken.

Thank you very much for the advice.  Might have to try that if the latest measure does not work.

Cheers,

I have had word that the speaker boxs are almost complete... as in today or tomorrow all work is complete.

Just the completion of the electronics to go....   :)

Not to down play the electronics as they are magic that make SGR speakers what they are, special :)

Hasn't quite been the 3-4 weeks we anticipated, but the delivery date is fast approaching... :)  **** happens... not much anyone can do about it.  Stuart and Harry are doing their best and as much as we would all like there to be 10 of them each, there is only 1 each.  They do their best, which is much better than most.

Had word its ~ 1 week.

Pic's to follow.

*blush*

The mattress has just been lifted to number 4 on the list.

1). MT3FSL's
2). HT curtains
3). Maelstrom-X sealed sub (passive + behringer pro amp)
4). New Matress (Jen adds: a great big fancy one)
5). save, save, save.... for next bit of AV gear... opps, I mean house related projects.

Well 1-4 have all been paid for and organised.

5... well thats been given a stupidly big kick in the guts.
