The Last Day with multiview enhancements
(23 June 2004)
One of the greatest natural disasters of all time unfolds and is set to shock the nation in the Nine Network special event Pompeii - The Last Day, on Wednesday, July 14 at 8.30pm.
As part of this special television event, viewers who have digital television receivers tuned to Channel 90 will also have the opportunity to see additional information during the broadcast. The digital multi-view provides a series of text-bites to reveal further archeological evidence and findings.
Nine Network Chief Executive, Mr David Gyngell, says this is an Australian first for free to view docu-dramas.
Its just one more way that digital television can provide viewers with extra services and dimensions to programming, Mr Gyngell said. And one more way that Nine is leading the industry in innovative and entertaining drama.
When first screened, the one-hour, big-budget docu-drama had an incredible audience of 13 million viewers, making it the most watched history program of all time in the United Kingdom.
