MY  SYSTEM.

As far as colour, contrast, brightness and sharpness went I didnt have to change anything   I even went a few setting either side and back again to make sure.

As far as the audio goes I use the MCACC on the pio amp to calibrate so only used the disc for video.

Could I perhaps suggest people PM the next on the list when they are finished with the disc? - I for one dont check every thread religiously and an guilty of discussing something in a thread then forgetting which thread it was :-)

I was hoping someone would have shot me a PM about selling my place on the list :sigh: oh well :-) good job theres plenty more irons in the fire! LOL

Anyway glad to see its moving along again!

I would be interested but suspect it might not be of much value to me. My Pana pz850 doesn't give much option for making adjustments & I'm not game enough to go into the service menu. Doesn't seem to be feasable to get a pro calibration here either as I'm not on the mainland. Fortunately the display as it stands looks pretty good to me.

Indeed it is...I saw one on the BR Trade thread for $15... ...just proves it....it is not one that people keep for keeps!!!

I know. But surely considering the $1000's (or $10,000's) people spend on home theaters, $15-20 is a minimal outlay. And setups change which, presumably, would require recalibration?  Seems a long time to wait to save a few bucks. Bit funny in my opinion.  Took my name off after a couple of months. Each to their own i guess

I gave up looking for this and found AVSHD709

Downloaded the AVCHD (.exe) version which is a self extracting file.  The file extracts to a 4.4 GB iso file.  Created the disk using the their recomended ImgBurn software and now I have a very usefull calibration disk.  Even though the disk is in DVD format, the data is for Blu-Ray (as I understand it).

Not as good or comprehensive as DVE HD Basics but very good for a free product. Has seperate sections for "CalMAN", "ChromaPure" or "ColorHCFR".  Also has a short tutorial "HDTV Calibration" and a section for calibrating without the use of a sensor "Basic Settings".

I hope this post is not against the forum rules.

The Disney one has better test patterns IMHO - even if you know what you are doing, it;s a hell of a lot easier to navigate around and find what you want.  DVE is pretty old now I guess.
