Been reading on a few sites that There Will be Blood and Bee Movie will still be released. I think it is possibly internet rumours growing out of very little, but then again if they were close to getting them out maybe they will still do it. As I say I doubt it but it would mean 1 more movie I would buy before giving up on HD DVD movie buying.

thing i dont get is its not a tho the snap their fingers and say "we are putting this movie out this week"....pretty sure it would take them a fair few weeks to produce a title - having said that, some of these releases that got butchered would have been started to at least the transfer stage so i am not sure why the wouldnt just release a vanilla version.
funny thing tho is the Godfather Trilogy HD-DVD is still listed on Amazon.de when i looked a few hours ago  : the non Godfather

Yes, but the Godfather on de, is the UK release. they just haven't caught up I think. At least I hope as I would hate the fact if it came out at a much higher price and I had cancelled my UK order. But I am 99% sure that one won't see the light of day.

But would anyone be willing to pay retail prices for them?  We've all been spoiled with these fire-sale prices.  I guess I've still been buying a few titles closer to retail prices (Beowulf and Blade Runner off Amazon for example), but not too many.

Maybe its not worth them releasing titles that will have to go straight in the bargain bin if they are going to make decent sales.  They might feel that they are better off just bumping it to Blu-Ray where they can preserve their margins.

it will be interesting to see if Warner do live up to there recent statement to : imagine 10,000 BC coming out late in the year on HD-DVD.....Warner has a potential market around 1/4m - 3/4m people hanging out for a new release title which the other studios have turned their back on - be laughing all the way to the bank.
