I thought I would create a post helping buyers with the availability of the Sony Bravia tv's in particular the W, X, XBR series...

Nice idea Adam, but where are you getting this info from?
I think I was quite lucky with my 40W. Apparently it was the last one in the shop - and probably one of the last ones in Sydney.  

Hopefully the people still looking for these TVs can get one in time for the free PS3.

Hey, I work for a major retailer in Victoria, I spoke to the State Manager this morning and he gave me the heads up for these models...So the info should be just about spot on...but of course they are just a guide...they may arriver earlier or take a little longer to arrive...

Hi alls, i just like to add the avalibility of 40 w" (bought its for 2190+free delivery+2 mid range HDMI). I'm just try to say that domayne home mega livor NSW should of have some in stock. As i bought mine on 31/12 , got its deliver on 3/1 (1/1 was close due to NY). So yeh guys ,if u like to get this lcd deliver to ur doors before the ps3 promo close ... may be should give domayne a try ( i was served by their manager whose name is GINO)....cheers guys

I also ordered mine from JB on the 27th here in VIC. They told me mid-Jan too. I went in yesterday to see if I could get an update and they said next week sometime. If you order now however it will be mid Feb.

The guy also said that JB alone in VIC has 90 on order!

It really doesn't matter when you order (if you want the free PS3, order and pay in full before the thing closes, so I'm not sure if finance applies). Anyway, the problem with the Bravias is that they were so popular (partly due to the promotion) that Sony wasn't ready for the amount of demand and was completely sold out nationwide (or close to it). Anyway from what I recall the new orders are in the process of being shipped from Asia, so just give it some time.

It will probably be done first come first serve, but thats determined by your retailer.

Hope you guys get your Bravias because they are magnificent tv's.

Spoke to JB Camberwell yesterday about my 46x said end of jan Start of Feb i ordered mine on the 31st of Jan.

I spoke to JB just then, the guy said the Sony rep was in yesterday and that they were arriving on the 21st of Jan.

I ordered mine 27/12. A month is a pretty long wait, especially for something I've paid in full for.

Does anyone know if there will be any difference with the new shipments of Bravia's comming in, some people have mentioned that they might be manufactured in Malaysia or elsewhere, I have also heard they will come with updated firmware loaded.

Where did you hear about this? As far as I know, all the X and XBR are made in Japan and only the W are made in Malaysia. I'm very skeptical that Sony has moved their entire product line to Malaysia.

Maybe this has something to do with it... although it doesn't state if it's the W, X or XBR or all of them.

All XBR and X series are made in Japan, a few stores that were out of stock said that the new stock of XBR and X that was arriving shortly "may" be made in Malaysia to meet demand.

would you mind telling me which jb you spoke to? cuz im in the same situation, bought and paid for it full on the 29th dec and still waiting
21st of jan is a bloody long wait...not too happy at all

My 40 W Series arrived yesterday.  I have been waiting for it since 26th of December.

I spoke to the guy at Dick Smith in Nunawading and he said they just received a whole hep of Sony W & X series yesterday.

I purchased a KDL46X3100 from JB Hi Fi Chermside on Sunday 13 January. I was originally told that delivery would be late January as all JB stores have no stock. I got a phone call from JB yesterday saying that they now expect delivery to be at the end of February!   Hope it comes sooner.
