Received my White Jap 40gb PS3 today from PlayAsia. All for under $500. Took 3 days to arrive. Works fine with 240v, no step down required as previously mentioned.

Also received Spiderman 3 BluRay  for free :)

My girlfriend hates the white though.

So guess its going on ebay :(

Does anyone know anywhere in Melbourne that are still selling the old model with the larger HDD and PS2 compatibility ??

you can ring around all the major stores, and get them to check their PS3 stock. you might get lucky. maybe. definately worth some phone calls though.

Good luck, I've seen them going for $1500+ on ebay in the last couple of weeks, the sharks have well and truly moved in on that market

Yep.

I have an Aus 40gb PS3 and she reckons i should have just gotten another Black one as it matches our entertainment unit. She is right, but i wanted to see the white one. Looks great. But she will win :)

Also i got $1400 for my old 60gb Aus PS3. So good luck. Crazy prices.......

Allowed me to purchase 2 consoles for both region Blu Rays :)

Especially with the trade deal @ EB I pulled off. All up both PS3's cost me $760 Aus :)

According to the DSE website, they still have some in stock in a few PowerHouse stores (stock availability last updated 4 am today), but I won't be surprised if it's just in error (but maybe worth a phone call just to confirm):

Fantastic offer from Toys R Us.

Get $2 off for every $10 spent.

So that makes the PS3 only $560 (based on $700 rrp).

Applies for X360, Wii and others too. No exclusions, as stated on the voucher.

Ends this Sun.

Are you sure it is $2 off for every $10 spent, it sounds like it is just $2 off for anything over $10 spent.

You had me excited about some games purchses then bernng! But, I'm afraid it's only $2 off if you spend $10 or more... not for every $10 you spend (i.e. 20% off). The PS3 if RRP is $699 would be yours for only $697. Awesome! :D

Good for those who are buying stuffed toys I guess...

Cheers,
Dr.

Just got mine from Game on the $299 trade in deal.
What is the best blue ray movie for all the effects. or specifically how is the quality if ps3 is connected via component cable.

Got the PS3 using the Myer One deal (see MatthewP's post: http://www.dtvforum....p...t&p=847818).

I don't have the card yet, just the customer number, since I applied online. Went there and initially they weren't sure whether I could get the deal without the card, but after some consultation, they agreed to do it.

They gave me a form for the 3 free Blu-ray movie redemption offer, but the form was for PS3s sold betwen 30th November and 24th December ... it looks like the 3 free movie deal (with the same 3 movies) will be extended for another month at least, but not sure about the free Blu-ray remote Myer One offer, and whether it will be extended beyond the 25th or not. In any case, I'm going to use the form that MatthewP posted (special thanks for MatthewP again for posting the links), which is the correct form for the current promotion.

They were also having a buy two get one free sale for Blu-ray movies, but the prices there were a bit high ($49.95 for most titles).

I used the Myer One deal for $688 today also.
Droid had never heard of it and thought I photoshopped the promo I reckon.

Hmmmm decisions  <_<

Whats the better deal ...????

1. The myer -one offer with 3 blu-ray movies & remote for $688  - (until sunday only)

or

2. The Harvey Norman deal with 3 blu-ray movies & F.e.a.r for $688 - (no official end date ,i rang &  have word its on for at least 3 more weeks)

or

3. EB games price match with 3 blu-ray movies(right there in store apparantley , not by reedemsion from sony   ) & game of your choice

does anyone know if the movies are different anywhere or all spiderman, casino royale & ghost rider ?

The remote retails for $50 or you can get a fakie non OEM that will do the trick off ebay for $10 so im thinking EB games might be getting a visit tomozza.

Anyone disagree ?

Myer's the better deal. FEAR is only $44 at JB new but the game is already 2+ years old (direct from PC) so you're not looking at a great deal of graphics here. I'd go for the remote as it can be used for your movies and PVR capabilities next time.

The fakie is crap. It requires an adapter plugged in and doesn't have full functions. A friend of mine has one and he's regretting it. Also, it doesn't have the colour coded buttons that might be needed for PlayTV next time (as most DVD recorders have them now for teletext, EPG, etc). The remote is bluetooth so do not require a line of sight like the cheapie remote.

Well, if you don't like it, ebay can easily fetch $40. The FEAR game won't get you anywhere within that price range (but I could be wrong).

Just my 2c...

Cheers. So i wont be getting one of those then. Do you know if theres a limit to the price of the game you can choose from EB ? if i can choose a $120 new release , u think it would make more sense to go there than get a remote worth $50 fom myer. plus you get your movies straight away..

Calling the "fakie" as you put it crap is a being a little hard on the poor little guy.

I want to see you program your official $50 BT remote into your universal remote :P

hmmm ok. Im not sure, but if that is the case & its the game or the movies then that makes the myer offer by far the best.Does anyone know?
