Free to air TV hopefully as you said should be OK but again I need to find a place with TV show for demo. After this motion blur shock, I find it hard to trust anything on review or theory but my own eyes.
Finally got the chance to demo the D8000 with blu-ray source. I was hoping D8000's motion smooth feature will automatically turn on under 24hz mode so the judder issue will be gone. The sales guy managed to find the Top gun blu-ray with the rolling credit in the end. Not 100% sure the replay mode at the time but the screen showed 24p so I assume it is the 24hz mode. Guess what, the credit still has obvious judder. A 100HZ samsung D6400 LED next to it playing same source, smooth enough.
Am I the only person noticing this? probably not. Professional reviews are mixed. The whathifi one did mention its motion handling issue.

It stated - "Finally, motion, isn’t quite as solid or smooth as that offered by rivals."
