So you signed up some members to your ladies auxiliary club.  Enjoy you tea, scones and voyager episodes.  While your busy watching tom paris crack onto ugly klingon girl I'll be watching the battle of "Sacrifice of Angels" between a fleet of over 600 federation starships and equivalent Klingon contingent verses the Dominion, Cardassia and the Breen. :P

Lets start by saying this is all Hypothetical.  Lets say i just built a new HTPC with about 4tb storage. I have just ripped my 600+ DVD onto the drive with 0 compression. If i had done this it would have taken a few weeks at best...whew! I have pretty much all Star Trek DVDs on the market and tones of other TV show DVDs. To rip all these at full quality will just take up too much space. Lets say i tried to convert them all to AVIs and found out that converting each Ep takes about 40mins (real time). This is just not feasible with 1000's of EPs. The files would work out to be about 349mb each (a files size MANY people are familiar with). Any other ideas people? Quicker process?
If anyone else out there has done or considered this please let me know or shoot me a PM.

cheers

Jason

Another Voyager fan here. I want to grab the Cube also. Oh and DS9 was excellent from series 3/4 onwards but voyager was excellent from 1-7.

I can't believe some people mention Farscape/BG/SG in the same breath as ST.

I thought the best seasons of DS9 were 5 and 6. Season 6 is where the Dominion war began and starfleet lost DS9. The events took place over a six episode story arc at the start of season 6 where in the end Sisko reclaims DS9. Those episodes are excellent and are by far the best DS9 IMO. I'm actually going through the DS9s now, I only previously watched it on TV. Voyager is better though IMO and i've been through 1-7 on DVD quite a while ago now, got the red plastic boxsets which EzyDVD are now trying to flog off for $149.95 a season.

I quite like the Stargates but I can't stand Farscape or Battlestar Gallactica.
