I don't know if anyone will appreciate this but here is a list of Anime (Japanese animation) currently screening on Australian TV.  Some are good, some are bad - I have highlighted the better series.

FULL METAL ALCHEMIST - full show has run (minus the end movie) has been in infinite repeat mode for some time now.

INU YASHA - never completed the full run of the show but has been in infinite repeat mode for some time now.

TRINITY BLOOD - season 1 has run, and has entered infinite repeat mode.

All series being screened are repeats except for Bleach, Ergo Proxy and Eureka Seven (even Afro Samurai seems to be episode 1 repeated several times)  

It would be awesome to have something like the US Anime Network here http://www.theanimenetwork.com/

Thanks for putting that list together,

I didnt know Ergo proxy was on ABC2 - ive got it DVD 3 sitting on my HTPC to 'get around' to watching - what ep are they upto?

They are still showing episodes from DVD 2.  DVD 3 eps either next week or the week after.

Well thanks to this thread I recorded 'Ergo Proxy' this week....

What a great show!

I think I will have to go out and source the series from the start now.

Cheers to ABC2 for bringing us 3 anime series in the last 6 months (Cowboy Bebop, Ergo Proxy, Noein).

If they keep this up I'll start considering ABC2 as a real channel

Season 2 of Naruto will start being aired by the Cartoon Network next week from 20.30 Tuesday and repeated 0.30 the next morning.  It will probably run Monday to Thursday night with repeats the following morning.

Thank you very much mddawson. I had no idea SBS was showing anime content again (after so damn long...). I'll have to remember to start watching SBS again (for stuff besides Top Gear/Mythbusters/South Park).


I only just realised ABC2 was showing something other than Ergo Proxy. Caught the second half of Noein, will catch the repeat on Sunday (another thing I love about ABC2, besides anime). Unfortunately my local guides don't list the digital channels, so I had no idea it (and Red Dwarf) were on as well. ABC2 is quickly climbing my list of best channels.


The reason I got a DTV box in the first place was that someone told me that ABC2 was showing Cowboy Bebop.
Since when did ABC/2 become so 'cool'?

I also messed up Naruto on The Cartoon Network which is also on Friday at 20.30 (no repeat however) and there seems to be older episodes at 20.00 on weekends.

There's a mob at my local shopping centre flogging GiTS series DVDs for $15.50 or 3 for $30 ATM.

Very tempted.......
