It has been interesting to watch the next gen console war. Microsoft seem to be getting 1 up over the PS3 just when it looks like Sony have all the momentum.

Hopefully this will be a worldwide service and not just limited to US markets. In any event it's a move in the right direction and a pleasing sign of things to come. Your typical movie will be about 5GB for 720p VC-1 which is not too bad. But it's definitely nice to have that option rather than buying HD-DVDs every time for $30+ a pop plus the 3 week wait of course.

Hey Al you must be spewing that you gave up your 360 now!

I was concerned about the localised content, but I have a US account also, so perhaps that will work?

Have you download 720p previews over xbox live?  I think you will still be in for a 3 week wait for a full movie    :D

Yeah good point Momaw. Not to mention those 20GB hard drives will fill up pretty quick. :P

Although it's only hopefully a 3 day wait.

I guess it will depend on a lot of things such as your connection speed and the time of day youre downloading. Either way, its a pro-active move by M$, and they also launch theironline music store in the next couple of weeks to go along with the Zune.

It's with iinet adsl2+ great service. You wont get that kind of speed over the international links but certainly from local mirrors (aarnet, optus, telstra) you'll get very close!

I was using bit torrent at the time, just under 2megabytes a sec I was getting!
