There have been a number of reports of Warner disks failing.

Really? Being that Warner are a big chunk of HD DVD that may pose a problem

Any chance you could point put some of these reports?

We watched all of the Harry Potters before the last one came out on Blu ray, and I have 1 to 5 on HD DVD
and 3 of the 5 had the problem, Space Cowboys was he same.

So it looks like a Warner problem after reading some of the posts on AVS

This DVD for Blu ray http://www.dvd2blu.com is only for the US

Is there any point in contacting Warner locally ? aucustserv@warnerbros.com

Speaking of Star Trek, I noticed something the other day on Ebay that really surprised me: http://www.ebay.com....1#ht_477wt_1160

I really had no idea that there were 3 series issued on HDDVD, and would have bought it at the time if I had known. It could probably be got for $150 including delivery, which isn't too bad.

Edit: just notice that only the first series is HDDVD, the rest is just plain old DVD.  Oh well.

Recently transferred my entire HD DVD collection (200 or so titles) to my NAS, found about 8 titles that choked with read errors. I have a list of them on my pc, but from memory they included 'Matrix Revolutions' and '300'

Cheers

Just out of interest Macca, which software do you use to rip HD-DVD to what file type?

Hi Mr hp only a guess but Macca may have used either tsmuxer or makemkv ; which one depends somewhat on what codecs your media player supports

TSmuxer will convert your hdvd to a m2ts [bluray] file container . I used this for my dd+ titles as you can discard tracks you don't want . For my truehd titles I use makemkv which wraps everything in a mkv container -  ts muxer wouldn't give me truehd or at least i couldn't make it :pinch:

Both programs are a lot easier than earlier methods using multiple programs thankfully

Thanks Michael for being so accomodative. Will find a good shelf for them to gather dust! ;-)

Just kidding, given they are my only media content in my second residence I am sure I will get around to watching.

I have no idea what this is worth so make me an offer for the lot.

About 80+ HD-DVD titles (most are still in shrink wrap)

Xbox 360 HD-DVD player (Brand New)

Offers over  $250 would tempt me to sell.  As its such a large collection.  Melbourne (CBD) buyers prefered
