I recently repaired my Supernet's power supply - replaced bulging caps. It works fine. But two nights ago I went to play back a recording, but all it would do was to stutter, as if it was streaming off a dialup connection or something. All the recordings did it.

In the end I did a master reset. It seems to have fixed it. I had to redo the tuner and change video output back to svideo. It's fine for the moment. Just wondering if anyone who owns this type of PVR has seen this happen.

Stutter replay happens to me on a regular basis. I can solve it by simply switching off the pvr (from the power button on the remote, not at the wall) and switching back on. This means I do not have to a factory reset. Give it a go and see if it works for you.

The other day was the first time in 10 months of ownership that it occured. I think that I did try the power off and power back on. I didn't try it at the wall. Next time it happens, if it does I shall try both power off methods.

But then, resetting it does allow the tuner to rescan and if any new channels have been added it will pick 'em up. But, then there weren't any when I did it two days ago.

Does anyone here have the software that you can use via a serial cable to upgrade the firmware? The manual says "go to the website" but it doesn't list the website's address, nor can I find it after numerous searches.

Thanks. I get a "connection Problem" error message when I try to log in.

And a month or so later after repeated attempts, still no response.

So, folks, if one of your criteria is after sales service then don't go with any of the products that this mob imports, particularly the flaky Supernet PVRs.

Spend a bit extra and buy through a normal retailer and products that the likes of Harvey Norman, The Good Guys or Retravision sell.
