I own a DVB-T USB (For the PC), However i cannot pick up Ch9 or Ch10 in high definition properly. I have filled out as much info as i know off my head to assist.
Program i use to view with is 'K-World DVB-Plus'

Q32. Do other DTV devices, STB's etc work from the same antenna ? No
I think you've answered your own question, I'd suggest that if you cannot get any other STB's etc to work from this antenna point then it doesn't really matter what program you are using with your USB Tuner.

I read a review recently on USB Tuners, Some were quite good, others...........

The first thing you need to do is figure out why nothing else works from this point .........Lack of signal strength is a good place to start ............

I can pick up channels on the digital network... including the high-def channels however the resolution
comes up differently for Ch9 (HD) & Ch10 (HD). I only see a quarter of those 2 channels in HD.
Resolution for 9 & 10 (HD) that i get is (480 x 576) both channels. Is there a way i can fix that?

Help! I have a new LeadTek WinFast DTV1000 T card that works beautifully in my old PC with a single pentium on a Leadtek MB. However, the drivers will not install on my new Core 2 duo PC with the following components:

MotherBoard:- Intel Core2 Asrock 775Dual-VSTA
Video Card:- PCI-e (ATI) Gigabyte X1600Pro 256MB RX16P256D-RH
CPU:- Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 (2MB) LGA775

I downloaded the latest drivers from Leadtek and re-installed XP SP2 with nothing else installed except the video drivers.

When I try to update the hardware using Device Manager and the INF files from LeadTek I get the message that there is an Installation error and that the hardware may not work correctly.

Has anyone tried installing this DTV card on a Core 2 Duo PC with success?

Are there any known issues with the motherboard or the Gigabyte Video card?

Hell if I knew what all the big words meant I would not be here  :P  :D

Simple question... TV tuner for a laptop

the laptop is a DELL, Inspiron 6400.

Why, because I want to watch the news and some TV from time to time - while travelling
yes, I probably will need an arial too, what type - I don't know.

(1) what to buy
(2) what to look for
(3) analogue or digital or both

Well I use an Avermedia E506 Hybrid+FM cardbus in my LG notebook. it is a PCMCIA slot card so you will have to make sure your Dell has one of these slots.
Does Analogue, Digital and FM
http://www.avermedia...dbus.asp?show=2
Came with its own little spike antenna which is fine in good reception areas but it would probably be useless in marginal areas.
If you want to go USB then I used an MSI Digivox for a while which  worked ok and came with a "rubber ducky" type antenna.
Hated the software interface but this is a personal preference.
For travelling I would definitely go for an analogue/digital hybrid unit as you will probably be able to get analogue reception where digital is not available or too low in signal strength.

Leon Bradley,
Forget about all those technical issues. Your first task is to get an adequate antenna signal. When this is the case most receivers can sort out those technical facts for themselves.

You should be in the Sydney viewers' forum which is at the bottom of the main menu. Read Get the Best Reception, Sydney and read the links.
Further questions are Sydney specific and should be asked there.

G'day people,

Just wondering if someone could offer me some advice on a antenna problem.
I've just got a new PC with a Videomate T750 tv card, i can plug a set of rabbit ears in and get a picture.
But If i plug in the antenna for the house, it drops out the signal from the antenna, so not only do i not get a signal on the
PC, but it stops the signal to all other TV's in the house.
I had the antenna for the house installed for me, so not too sure on it's set up, however it does run a splitter as well as an amplifier.
I tried a simple DC blocker, thinking that there may have been a slight current through the coaxial because of the amplifier,
and so the card may have earthed the signal to protect itself or something. But that didn't seem to
fix the problem, any help would be great,

Cheers

I need help with my Compro VideoMate T750.  I'm having trouble removing/reinstalling drivers.

I have been using the S-Video input lately with my PS2 & things have been running fine (for several months) until recently, when all of a sudden my output started to display in black & white.  As soon as I noticed this, I rebooted my PC, only to be prompted with a 'new hardware found' message.  Windows recognized the device as a 'Videomate TV SAA7133/35 Hybrid Capture Device', I canceled the installation & proceeded to repair my drivers (V1357).  This had no effect, so I removed the driver entirely, reinstalled, but still no change.

Through many combinations of trying to install the device through hardware update wizard & trying VMHybrid_1357.exe, I've come to the realization that when I use VMHybrid_1357.exe, it doesn't actually install the driver. I've noticed that upon rebooting, the hardware update wizard prompts me with 'new hardware found', even after trying to install the driver with VMHybrid_1357.exe.  The install process takes all of 2 seconds to complete & there is no warning about the driver not being digitally signed.  I'm not sure if the application isn't installing because all of the drivers haven't been removed entirely, or what's going on, but I'm currently unable to get my device working.

Strangely enough though, when I've installed the device through the hardware update wizard, I am able to get the device to register through ComproDTV 3, again, in black & white, but am able to record video, which would normally crash DTV 3 when the correct drivers work working.

Any help with this will be much appreciated, as if I can't sort this out, I'll be taking this card back & will hopefully upgrade to a card with better analog input quality, assuming there are cards that have a better signal.

Regards,
Guy B

Just a thought, but try un-installing all the drivers / hardware / programs, then re-booting, then installing the drivers and all other software BEFORE inserting the hardware ................

I dont know if this is in the correct section, but hope you can help:

We have a sonicbox pgtv 500 model

When we got bought the house, we bought the TV and digital receivers together with the house.

Problem is that we did not know anything about satellite tv so did not know to ask about PIN. The sellers did not advise of PIN or anything like that and to make it sound more like we found it fallen off the back of the truck, the sellers have left the country so contacting the real estate agent was a waste time (at least we tried).

Nagivating to the main menu on the TV, the sonic box is asking for a PIN. The manual says to resest it but i can not locate where and how to reset the machine. Any ideas?

Also, the sonic box has a card slot. Where and why would we need one of these things?

thanks

There is quite a bit of info over here, at the DigitalNow website.  And lots of stuff throughout this forum.

Basically, the quality should be the same.  The USB devices are flexible in that you can move them around more easily, and of course, they don't need spare PCI slots.  But they do need adequate power to them (maybe need an external powered USB hub).

EDIT:  Suggest you make this a new topic, rather than burying it on the end of a sticky...

I'm having a similar problem to the above.  My card (also a Compro T750) was working well until I took it out of the computer for a couple of weeks while I tried installing it in a Linux box.  When I put it back in the computer and started Compro DTV 3, the driver appeared to be missing (device was missing in a box that popped up). I've tried unistalling the driver (via Control Panel, Add/Remove programs) restarting the computer, installing the driver from the CD, also downloading VMHybrid_1357.exe but without any success at all.  Has anyone else been through this and found a fix.  Suggestions from those who haven't probably won't help as I tried quite a lot of other things in addition to what I've put down here.
(I'm also running Windows XP)
TIA

On the amp there is a Db 'screw' I receive all the other channels without a problem but I noticed the Db for SBS is higher in my display on my PC, is that my reason for not getting any reception for SBS? I have done a rescan and SBS gets missed completed but the others are all there. Should I 'turn the screw'? Any other ideas or advice?

Ok I'm becoming baffled at the operation of my TV card compared to everyone elses.

Firstly I have a Acer 5650, with all the factory specs, Intel® Core™ Duo processor, XP MCE, 2 GB DDR, etc.

Anyway my problem is with my new AverMedia E506 TV card.

After inserting the card I installed the software/driver as prompted, I then connected the aerial port up to the big antenna for my home and when scanning for signals my tuner picked up all the analog signals perfectly as expected, given I live in the city (Adelaide). Now the problem for me was the digital service scan for me always reveals nothing!!!!

Does anyone know why this would occur??? It is driving me nuts because everyone else is struggling with certain channels but my digital scans show no results!!!! How can this be???

Also when watching analog tv I have a pretty good picture except for a section of the screen about 1/5th of the way from the left hand edge, which all the way down the screen has these very thin horizontal lines that appear when the image is moving but when the image settles down the lines disappear a little. I have a 128Mb NVidia Geoforce 2, so surely it isn't video memory is it??

Hey guys, since i can't start a thread, i would like to ask what those device where you plug into your tv (since mine doesn't have HDMI, just component) and it can pick up my wifi (iinet voip modem) signal which has all my movies on one computer. The codec is must support are: xvid/divx, h264/x264 (and the subtitles included in mkv) as well as external sub suck as .srt. That's all i need it to do. What device would you recommend and what are they called? I don't need a HTPC as i want something small and affordable.

Hey guys, before posting I used search to try and find out if anyone else had found a solution for this problem, but failed to find anything, so here goes.

I have just recently purchased a M51Sn Asus notebook, it has the DIB 7700 Tuner inbuilt, worked fine in Vista, though I have changed back to XP due to some other problems in vista.

I have downloaded some software packages to watch TV through this tuner e.g SageTV etc, and it recognizes the Tuner fine, though when looking for channels it finds nothing.

It also recognizes the tuner as a BDA Analouge capture device, even though it is digital ?

Hardware:

Q02. CPU Manf ? Speed ? T9300 2.5 Ghz
Q03. Video Card Manf ? Model ? Nvidia 9500M GS

Q05. DVB-T Card / Device Manf ? Model ? DIB 7700
