Hi Folks,
I am new to the world of digital STB so help me out if you can.
My first box was a Teac STD box. Works like a charm on all stations.
Next move, a HD-box for my projector. Works great too.
Now I bought the Supernet-8000T-PVR to take the place of the Teac. It cannot find SBS. All other stations  look great.
I read the bits about the antenna and no masthead amp etc. I tried without amp and lost all. Re-connected the amp and varied the gain up and down. If too high the analogue signal becomes destorted and the digital drops out; if too low the analogue becomes "snowy" and the digital drops out. I have now set it where I get a good analogue picture on all channels and a wonderful digital result, but still no SBS.
I plug in the Teac and all is well.
Can anybody out there in DigiLand help me?

Try doing a factory reset on the box, then enter no state location. Eg Australia then 'Other' for state. Rescan the channels and hopefully you will have SBS.

I'm impressed. It worked!!

Guess the supplier of the Supernet could put a small note in with the unit when he ships interstate?
I am in QLD, but it came from "down South"

Hi,

Does your Supernet 8000T-PVR have a hard drive? I live in Sydney metro and yesterday I bought a Supernet 8000T but without "PVR" at the end, i.e. no hard drive, just SDSTB, and got exactly the same experience as yours. Channels 7, 9, 10, ABC are okay, but not SBS. I change the location in Main Menu from EU (default) to Australia, but it still can't find SBS. Is there another tricky step to be followed?

They seem to need the Factory Reset to work properly. It seems to be an Australia wide issue (and affects Wintals too).

What about the location in the Main Menu? Does it still need to be changed to "Other" instead of Australia?

Yes I to had the same trouble with my Supernet 8000t , it wasn't the one with the HDD however. The only way you will get it to work properly is to do a factory reset as mentionad before, then rescan all your stations. Now for my little problem that I hope someone can help me out with. I have a Plasma and a LG recorder as well. What happens is when I set the Signal Output to 16:9 on the Set Top Box for my TV size I cannot record anything, the recorder comes up with the message UNCOPYABLE MOVIE CANNOT RECORD. However if I change the setting back to 4:3 it records fine. I got a lend of another Set Top Box and it recored fine, so the problem is coming from the Supernet 8000T on 16:9 screen format, If anyone has a solution to this problem it would be greatly appreciated as I suspect the are others out there experiencing the same problem

Hi Folks,
New to this but with the same problem. SBS is intermittent and I've found out why. On the Gold Coast the frequency is 585.3. Trouble is the 8000T cannot fine tune to that and sticks with 585.5. So even though I go into the Professional search mode and key in the right frequency I can't find a way to make it stick. When I tune it to 585.3 the pic is perfect, but trying to save it sees the default to 585.5. Is there any way to fine tune to the right frequency?
Otherwise the 8000T is brilliant. Love it.

I was having the same problem with my supernet TT 160G HDD,  did the the reset to factory setting, and set the location to ACT (or NSW) can not remember now. This came up with the goods, finding all the channels of Black Mountain !!!

But i am stiil hving a problem when recording channels, the picture and sound jump in play back mode and is happens on any of the channels ??? When i go check the singal strengh all appears to be OK. But every now and then on any of the channels  the C/N rato (channel to noise ratio, i think ???) is changing like a yo-yo, up and down, between 24.1 too 19.8

Could this be the casue off the jumping in recording or could it be the hard drive ????

If someone could help that would be great !!

Okay... you guys are simply brilliant.

I've been putting up with no WIN TV for months because I couldn't get my Supernet 2160T to recognise the station - even though it clearly showed a WIN Digital stream through the professional scan feature... but persistently telling me it couldn't unscramble the signal successfully. (Mt Stuart receiving Mt Wellington at 184.5MHz because Government Hills and 788.5MHz didn't work.)

WHAT THE??!?!

After resetting to Factory Default as discussed in this thread... then using Australia and <other> for state... and rescanning – I can now get WIN TV!!!

Thank goodness for forums and people that give a damn!

When l changed my frequency settings for sbs, in order to save it l simply needed to go to the save settings menu and then press ok.    If you exit out of the menu before doing this any changes will dissapear.
