Hi,
From other posts my understanding the difference between the Supernet PVR and the Wintal is only the remote contol not having an aspect ratio button.
Could anyone explain how you do change the aspect ratio for the Supernet.  Is this feature necessary if I have a 4:3 ratio TV.

Thanks for your help

Is the supernet remote the same as the digicrystal remote? if it is then it does have a picture format button. Having a wintal and a digicrystal (not a supernet but did recently buy a supernet stb for my brother) I would have 2 say that the wintal remote is the better of the 2. u may want to change the picture format once if u have a standard tv and if there isnt a button for it u just have to go into the menu no big a deal really.

The Supernet PVR remote has no aspect ratio button.  As bobster says you need to go through the menu system - slightly inconvenient but no big deal.
I've been wondering if there is some sort of workaround. Maybe a button combination or shooting through red cellophane. Stuffing around with the remote is often more interesting than the programme anyway

I bought one of the Aldi 8 in one remotes.
I found pressing "shift" + "av" on this remote changes the aspect ratio on my Supernet PVR.

There may well be a combination of keys on the original Supernet remote that does the same thing.

Thanks for the info re Aldi remote. It's reminded me that I bought a cheap all-in-one remote some time ago to replace a broken TV remote (now fixed). I'll try it on the Supernet pvr.
I tried lots of key combinations on the supernet remote with no success and I resisted the temptation to pull it apart.

How did you find the performance of the Aldi remote ????

I bought one, and I'm rating it as OK , definitely not good or great , but usable....!

Anyone else got an opinion on the Aldi remote ??

I'm not sure I have used the quoting function correctly ....sorry

hotshod,  l bought the aldi 8 in 1 on the weekend and have found it to be excellent.  Runs my pvr, tv, dvd and stereo.  For the pvr l found that using code 423 worked best for me.  All the keys were there from the original remote apart from aspect ration and swap.  Someone said you can use S then AV to change the aspect ration and this does work.  I instead used the learning function of the remote to program in a spare key with the features l needed (if you have a supernet where the original remote doesn't have this key this may not be possible to do).  Worked a treat for me though.  The macro function is also very handy for setting a string of functions.  I especially like the joystick for changing channels and volume.  For $15 it's the best money i've spent in a while.

Brent:)
