I've mirrored this file onto http://unrelated.net.au/aver/

that way you wont have to go through their bandwidth heavy site to find the link (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I'll do some testing with the remote (i own the a771) and get back to you

well, i've installed it, and if i view channel 10 HD it lags my computer up quite badly, i think its to do with the audio...

And the remote doesn't work (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

I'd download it, but suspect the usual, no 3:4 zoom, no remote.

Does anybody else have any strange standby/wakeup issues with beta 6.0.2.4x QuickTV application? It seems that whenever I have this version installed instead of the 6.0.1.x version my machine has a mind of its own. The system will go into standby at random times and wake up at random times (anywhere between 1/2 an hour and 3 hours after startup). Exiting QuickTV will clear up the problem so I have isolated it down to this application.

A clean reinstall of windows did not seem to fix the problem, so I have reverted back to 6.0.1.16 applications for now but I would like to move onto 6.0.2.x as it tidied up a lot of little things.

I should have mentioned that this was witht he DBV-T 777

Cheers,
L

hmm I don't have issues with standby/wakeup but I'm running a A771.

I just installed and tried Beta version 6.0.2.45

I think its been mentioned before, but while mucking around with the remote I hit the remote power button and volume came up on the 6.0.2.45 application, aswell as error code 3 because you obviously cant run 2 different DVB-T programs at the same time, but this gave me the idea that remote was doing something.

So here is how to use 6.0.2.45 on a A771 with remote;

1. Install A771 applications and drivers (version 1.3.60.2 if you live in oz)
2. Test the above, just to make sure everything is ok.
3. Install the 6.0.2.45 application, scan channels, remember Melbourne SBS needs a single scan at 536625 with b/w at 7Mhz.
4. LEAVE Quick DVB-T from version 1.3.60.2 running, in fact leave everything from 1.3.60.2 alone, there is no need to remove it.
5. You should have 2 icons in the system tray, QuickTV and Quick AverTV DVB-T

Remote functions.

button 1 moves mouse pointer to top left
button 2 moves mouse pointer to top
button 3 moves mouse pointer to top right
button 4 moves mouse pointer to left
button 5 left click and hold (drag)
button 6 moves mouse pointer to right
button 7 moves mouse pointer to bottom left
button 8 moves mouse pointer to bottom
button 9 moves mouse pointer to bottom right
button 0 left click

This pretty much allows you to do most things with leaving you in your vegetative zombie state (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
Still no 4:3 zoom on 16:9 broadcasts, if Aver add this, on remote, then the A771 will be a pleasure to use.

Hope someone finds this usefull.

edit: it seems 6.0.2.45 is also a lot better at handling weaker signals that have a lot of noise, on 1.3.60.2 the picture and sound breaks up, on 6.0.2.45 it drops frames, hardly drops sound but sometimes loses lip sync, but it recovers.

Thought I'd share some good news...

I've just installed the latest version of the AverTV application 6.0.2.49 and it works very well. I downloaded the a777 package from the avermedia global website and just installed the app since I have a771.

No need for the remote control system tray prog (from 1.3.60.x versions) anymore for remote control to get to the AverTv app. The remote control is working better than ever - everything except timeshifting works (though that could be user error). Its even able to control Windows Media Player and to a lesser extent PowerDVD. Compared to previous version, this is a joy to use.

The only things that don't work properly are,

1. SBS reception is now non-existent. It just seems to hang when one tries to view it.

2. HD seems to need more resources to display than in the 1.3.60.x versions. I have a AMD Athlon XP 1500+ CPU which was just able to play HD channels whereas now it staggers alot (even with DirectX support turned on).

New version of the TV application (6.0.2.49) available from www.avermedia.com global site (AVerTV Hybrid FM PCI Ver. 1.0.2.27).

As well as being able to use the A771 remote control (as stated above), you can now record from video input (in the UK) rather than getting a message saying 'This function is not supported in your country."

Looks like things are moving forward !!

Thanks Jas

DBA drivers loaded and my preferred app (Meedio) detected the card, scanned and played TV first time.

That makes 4 avers on Meedio (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I still have my Avermedia DVB-T A761.
Do I give up or is there drivers out there somewhere that will give me:

Working remote control.
Crash free full screen TV recording.

I dont care about HD.

unfortunately for the A761 you'd have to go Linux. but you could easily set up a multi partition on your computer for Linux and windows and boot into Linux to use the a761 with software such as MythTV.

I can't recall if it's in the official driver or in the current beta drivers I'm testing, but the AverTV TV Application v6.0 now supports PIP and POP (not dual tuners, so far as I know.. but you can play a file you've previously recorded as well as watch live DVB-TV).

Due to filewall restrictions, I no longer have access to:

http://forums.dvbowners.com/

Could someone post a message over there to let people know I can't reply to messages anymore - and perhaps they could repost them on this board?

Thanks,
Jason.

Hi Guy's,

Haven't been here for a while ...

I'm still plodding along nicely with my AverMedia A771 card, using it occasionally to capture something I plan to author to DVD and keep (otherwise I use my Topfield!). It never misses a beat.

I've just noticed that AverTV 6.0.3.21 is available on the AverMedia website. I've already downloaded it and plan to install tonight.

My questions ...

Is anyone still using the A771 card - v5.5.0.0 driver - AverTV 6.X.X.XX combination? I know a lot of people gave up.

What changes were made in 6.0.3.21 (I think from memory I'm using 6.0.2.49; I'm at work at the moment)

(Gizmomelb; are you still around?)

Cheers,
Dali

Whats the latest on these BDA drivers for the 771? Has anyone got their hands on them yet? Do they work? It seems nothing has been said since jason reported having them. I would really like to know as I'm still stuck with the crappy card with avers crappy software.
Cheers
