Hi , l'm helping a mate set up a ht system and he's budget is around $3500 for the speakers
He doesn't want to go used so I'm looking around to see what's available in that price bracket

I know he should listen to what's available , and he will get to listen to some , but being a long way from Melbourne it'll be restricted to a few brands
He's room is 7x5m so l managed to get his budget up to $3500 ish , but that's about it

As l haven't heard any of these speakers listed in the topic l thought I'd get some options here, I'm guessing the klipsch will be bright ish , and the other 2 systems a bit nicer on the ears?

I'm not a Klipsch fan, to my ears they always sound tinny (not thin).  I've auditioned a few Whatmough's and they always sound pretty good to me, they wouldn't be bad choice.  As is obvious from my signature I am currently running Summoners 863's for the L&R and 843's for the surrounds with a 263 centre.  There are a few threads with my comments, which (unsurprisingly) can be found in the Reviews section.  I really don't think you could go wrong with a set up from Edward and the best thing is he is always willing to talk through the choices as well as tailor a system to suite.
