I am expecting delivery of the ps64f8500am within the next week. It is a replacement under warranty. It is coming directly from Samsung. I am toying with the idea of selling this privately to get a smaller tv, as our living room where we live is a lot smaller than previously.

This TV will be brand new and boxed. It will have the receipt from Samsung.

My thoughts were that if I could sell it for $3000+ and get something more suitable, I would do it. However if I cannot get this level at least, I would just keep it.

Has anyone got any thoughts as to whether this target is achievable. It's difficult to determine, given that its absolutely brand new with receipt, but its a private sale. I could find out by putting it on eBay (or much worse Gumtree), but I don't want to waste effort and time if the end result is most likely no bids / sale.

Unless you must sit well under 3 metres from the TV why would you want anything smaller?

F8500 is a very good plasma TV and probably the best plasma ever made by Samsung.  In term of calibrated PQ it is as good as it will get with plasma and it has comparable PQ to the Panasonic VTs.   You can easily get $3000+ but my opinion is you should keep it.

Thanks for the replies - I acknowledge its a great TV, and I would love to keep it, but if I can get a decent price for it we could use the money elsewhere, and I'll just get a cheaper TV for the living room.  I'll wait till it arrives to make the final decision, but I'll most probably stick it on eBay for a short sale to see if anyone wants it.  Unless someone here on DTV who lives in Sydney wants to buy it ?

eBay is your best option, just go lower than current retail online pricing and you will get a sale
How will you provide warranty though?
Pretty sure warranty is not transferable, so make sure you check this before posting the ad...

Hi.  Thanks for the reply.  The warranty is the manufacturers contractual warranty (12 months from delivery) and also the statutory warranty provided under consumer protection laws.  Both are transferable to a new owner (see link below)

www.samsung.com/au/support/html/warrantyinformation/warrantyinformation4.html  (I typed that - if wrong it's on the Samsung website)

If the warranty is transferrable, you are in very good hands
Is the item out of box or still in box?
You stand to make some very good money here imo
