Bit late, I know, but just watched Star Trek (2009). Thoroughly enjoyed it. Don't know what, if anything William Shatner could've added to the story amidst speculation he was snubbed at the time.

Bring on Into Darkness.

Shatner was offered a cameo, he knocked it back as he thought he should have a major role, no shortness of ego with that one...........

Whilst Leonard Nimoy's participation seems he will live long and prosper as a result of these new films.

Googled it. Probably harder to fit an old Kirk in just so he could say To Boldly Go.

Old kirk would have just felt out of place anyway....

They already kinda did that in Generations, so to bring back Shatner on the big screen *again* would have been a bit ho-hum....

I always have trouble deciding whether to order form Amazon UK or US.
and if they are released on the same day the UK version will be approx $30 to the US version $20 delivered here.
but the UK will play in our region players and probably arrive weeks earlier.
I think I can afford the extra.

Paramount releases are usually region free.

Watched it today - what a rollcoaster ride of a movie- really enjoyed it.
True trekkers will see the connection to the original movie series with little variations thrown in.
3d was ok but I find in home setups the 3d is normally much crisper and depth is better.
Sound at the multi plex was outstanding- I really need to get a better sub

Finally got to go and see tgis last night, thoroughly enjoyed it, although son said he enjoyed the last one better, thought this one was a little predictable.
I loved the hark back to the original movies, and I really love Quinto as Spock.
My only complaint would be that the audio at the cinema we went to was way too loud and seemed overy bright but I think that was the cinema setup rather than the movie soundtrack.

Gee thanks..............  :P

That aside, I tend to run my setup pretty loud (just ask my neighbours :D ), but no this was screamingly loud, my ears were ringing by the end, I reckon it would've gone toe to toe with any of the concerts I've been to of late.  :o

It's only loud for your neighbours if you didn't invite them over.
