Well they're like 3 grand aren't they? and your X70 has a 4K res.. wont make an inch of difference, would be a step backwards - with ANY lens. The res is just so fine and unless you're going for some massive scope image like a 180 inch, you might gain some brightness.. but honestly it's wasted on that PJ. Normal 1080P PJ? go for it, a great addition, but for 4K e shift JVC, forget it.

Webbsy,  the X30 with a lens is good option and the lens is beneficial with a 1080 panel imo. you might find a 2nd hand m3 lens somewhere, they pop up from time to time. I sold off the last batch about 2 years back ago so no more here. The prismasonic HD5000 is a motorised 5 element lens, currently sells for 3K new.

+1 indeed.  I have seen the e-shift in action in scope zoom and I couldn't see any screen door on a 130" scope screen. Using 1080p source. IMO using a lens will degrade the pq due to pin cushioning. Forget it and spend the money on something else.

They've always been a product with a time limit on them... This is why mobs like Pana and JVC came out with the lens shift idea as lenses are just so expensive because of their sheer size.. I feel for lens makers as they're more or less held to ransom by the optics people because there aren't very many who can make the optics at that size and to the high tolerances required to make them as transparent as possible.

There's still a market for them but it's shrinking as each year goes by.

I have a really cheap one if your still after one. It has a small chip in the glass right on the corner and doesn't effect the picture at all. will be sold extremely cheap due to this. say $500. your welcome to see it in action first if your in Melbourne

p.m if interested

regards
Rob

I dunno.  For a unit to do some testing with, it might be the cheapest option available...

Cheers,

Chris

If it had the 5th element and he was using a 1080P projector like an X30, TW9000 etc, I'd say go for it.
But IIRC the model offered is just the 4 element version - which is why the 5th element came about - removal of astigmatism was needed.

Yeah I remember. I had no idea you still had it there.. that's a while back now.
I wonder if a 5th element could be sourced for it?
