HI guys,
My brother shipped a UK Panasonic Viera into Oz and he can run consoles on it but when he plugs it in he doesn't get a picture. He apparently tried connecting a set top box too.
Anyone know if there's a specific setting that needs changing or if one of these TVs is even usable with Australian digital tv?
Thanks in advance for any advice.

An external set top box should work fine with the TV. It should accept 1080i/50hz, as I think thats a used resolution over there. I would double check what he's done. Try plugging in via composite first as a fail-safe, then hook up via HDMI or component. You might have to adjust the output resolution of the STB (normally cyclable using a remote key) if 1080i/50 isnt accepted.
Theres a possibility that you may be able to adjust the country setting in the TV (normally found when first booting up the TV) to a European region, however a STB should work fine.

Okay. Thanks for the tips mate. I'll factory reset the tv and start trying your suggestions. Just wanted to be sure it was possible before I started digging into it and sorting it out.

Diresim,
The differences between UK and Australia are;
Australia commonly uses Band 3 VHF transmissions which are not used at all in the UK
Australia uses UHF channels which are only 7 MHz wide where as the rest of the DVB world uses 8 MHz. This makes most of our UHF channels different frequencies.
If in the installation menu you can select Australia as a country you will be ok. Otherwise as stated above get an Australian HD set top box and use an HDMI lead to plug it in.

Think you mean TX-32LXD8.
This model is programmed with a UK DTV tuner that will not operate in Australia.
A HD set top box connected via HDMI should work fine with this set.
