just back from a week away to kalbarri and shark bay and found this new station when we turned on the tellly (the telly had tuned it in itself automatically) is it part of the 7 group?

Anyways, what a waste of broadcasting spectrum. Watched about 1min of the psychic crap that was on last night - i'd rather watch the telly when it wasn't turned on than watch this rubbish

going to edit the station list and delete 4ME because it isn't for me

Well, it's broadcast on the 7 mux as part of their stream and they promo it on the other services so...
But I and many others will agree that along with WIN GOLD and Nine's Extra that they are a waste of bandwidth.

4ME is owned by Prime Media Group (who also owns Prime7 and GWN7).

Actually, TV4/TV4ME/4ME/WHATEVERIT'SCALLEDNOW is owned by Brand New Media, Seven/Prime just broadcast the station on their multiplex, and have the datacast licences to do so. Correct me if I'm wrong.

As for the content of 4ME and Extra (I can't comment on Gold because I don't recieve the station where I am), I agree that it's rubbish. The datacast laws need to be either tightened or scraped IMO.

The only show on there which I have found reasonably interesting is C-Net TV. I know it is a half hour commercial for them however at least the content is of interest (at least to me)

Actually I beleive its a joint venture between the two, but I didnt want to get into all that, just to confirm it was indeed part of GWN.

For the record, it's named "4ME" here. But I think it launched as TV4ME. At least that's what some media releases stated.

It originally was called "Television 4" over here on the east coast. They change names every month or so for some reason.

Seven Melbourne at least don't broadcast the 'Seven Network' in the Provider Name part of the channel info for TV4ME, unlike all their other channels.

I'll note that the content on 4ME does include a reasonable amount of community television programming, unlike the wall to wall ads on Extra.

Is this being carried on VAST as well?

Yup, but only for WA subscribers. Full EPG, too.
