The Herald Sun headline " Melbourne last to move to full digital" could create an incorrect picture of the TV landscape in some peoples minds. Full digital is available in Melbourne now as it has been for some years but the digital / analogue simulcast will end in Melbourne on 10th Dec next year when the analogue services are switched off forever. The headline should have read "Melbourne last to switch off analogue TV" which is very true. It will certainly happen as it already has in most regional areas of Australia.

Halelulyah - welcome to the brave new world of MPEG 2 compression with picture quality that fails all bechmark tests for digital broadcasting.
