"Reviews of the tournament’s 3D coverage last year were mixed and cinema ticket sales were disappointing. "

Yes I thought the camerawork for last year's Wimbledon limited 3D coverage could have been much better. I'd be surprised if the BBC don't do a better job this year with camera placement etc..

*3D coverage of the Ladies’ Singles final will commence at 14.30 and for the Men’s Singles final at 15.30. This is due to overlap with coverage of the Formula 1 British Grand Prix on the BBC HD Channel.
The BBC will continue its two year trial experimenting with 3D production and broadcast, with full re-runs of the Men’s Singles semi-finals in 3D (one on Sat 7 July and one on Sun 8 July), and selective live
coverage of the 2012 Ladies’ (Sat 7 July) and Men’s (Sun 8 July) Singles finals in 3D - free to air - on the BBC HD Channel.*

Another example of tv coverage of sport in this country being an absolute joke. We have to watch the final in SD on channel 7 while the UK get to watch it in 3D and HD on BBC....
