Hi guys,
I have the above plasma and while a great unit over the past few weeks i have noticed that the whites in all sources have a pinky purply almost static colour across the whites, this only happens in the white scenes or bright scenes.
Is anyone else having or heard of this problem?
Cheers

try a simple DiY calibration disc 1st?
Choose a different mode? Movie instead of dynamic?
You haven't given us much info to go on.

If you adjust the RGB gain controls you should be able to make whites any colour you like.
To remove a pink look the red gain needs to come down a little or the green gain needs to come up a little.
If adjustment does not fix the issue the TV is broken.

Via the RGB controls, either in the service menu or user menu if they are available there. Tint is not relevant, don't adjust it.
If colour is not uniform over the screen area the TV is broken, adjustments affect the whole screen equally.
Having the contrast control set to high can cause problems like you describe so try turning contrast down to see if it helps.

That looks a little bit like a device trying to push a colour space that the TV doesn't like.

Considering you've tried all modes and adjusted settings manually, I'd say this panel has a serious problem, especially if it is mostly in the top half of the screen. No plasma comes out of the box with RGB settings that make white a spotty pink/purple. Where did you buy the panel? I'd be taking it back...

I have organised through panasonic and JB for a technician to come out, he basically said after describing the problem to him, that it is more then likely a broken tv.
Ive never had to do a warranty replacement on anything i've purchased up until now, what happens here do they replace new for old or do i get a voucher? i note that the new 12' stock on the ST only have 50" and 60"
what are peoples thoughts, recommendations if i have to buy another panel (with voucher) as to what i should buy....stick with pana and go the 60" or try an LED samsung? (tough question, i know) decisions decisions

The tech guy will obviously assess the issue. If his affiliated with Panasonic he might also look to take the TV back to the factory. Otherwise he'll let them know there is an issue and hopefully what it is. Panasonic will look to repair the TV if possible so that's the first option. The tech guy might also diagnose the issue and say he'll be back to repair it another day on site.
If Panasonic decide its not worth the cost of repair then they'll likely talk to you about a replacement TV. They may offer a better reconditioned model or a similar new one. Unless they have an exact match they'll likely value your TV at some internal price and tell you the price difference to get a new one (something in the order of $200 possibly)
Although in theory they should offer cash back, in practice that's usually avoided and will probably be a lesser amount than you expect. i.e. you'll get more TV getting a replacement from them than you could buy with any cash back they give you. That said, sometimes they'll just offer to cut you a cheque.
IMO its pretty likely the tech will simply organise to fix the TV. Failing that not much point in guessing what comes next. Panasonic will get on the phone with you and let you know how they'd like to honour the warranty.
