Hello,

Looking for advice,

I have an Optoma HD20 projector set up in my theatre.  Where I have it mounted the largest image I can get is 114 inches approx. I am happy with the size of the image in relation to seating etc. I have been projecting onto the wall until I decided what size of screen to go for.

Is it better to get a 120 inch screen and have empty space around so I can get the largest image or go for a 110 screen and have the image filling the screen and having a crisper edge over projecting onto the velvet edging?

You'll find it better to have a little overscan onto the screen border i.e. a smaller screen, especially if it's a deep black border.  Helps avoid the occasional material flickering edge on some material.

Someone like Rich at OZ Theatre Screens will do a custom 114" screen if you ask.
