so now i plug my old box iwith the old smart card n and its saying upgrade my subscription with only the shopping channel working however my parents still have the full package at there house is there any setting i need to change in regards to lmb and the transponder setting ect? its been a while im sure some things have changed

any help would be greratly appreciated

thx

Edit.please dont comment if your just here to tell me how bad i am <3

Yeah,

It's called PAY THE SUBSCRIPTION.  There is a new restaurant in town you should go to.  It's called THAI TARSE.

It is people like you who make Foxtel more expensive for everyone else.

So you owe Foxtel money and now you want help to rip them off again, good luck with that.

There have been some pretty major changes to Foxtel over the past two years, not the least being security countermeasures.  Your box and card would have missed those updates and they are not pushed continually either.  Assuming the card in the box has a live subscription it may eventually come back to life if left connected and powered, but odds on you are going to have to call Foxtel to get the updates pushed at the card (at least) ... and I'm sure they'll be fascinated with your explanation of why you've been paying for a Foxtel service for two years that has been sitting in the cupboard, unplugged.

Actually they don't normally ask questions, I have had a box disconnected for 6 months due to renovations and they just hit the box without blinking an eye.

You know it's a funny old world..  But the moralists on here preaching, about what you should do, and how
you should pay,.  Would be the first in line at the local Pub, should someone come up with a  working
hacked card for sale.

As someone said, Your cards  missed an up-date,  Simply give them a ring and  tell them the kids  unplugged
the STB, or the dog pulled the plug out, or a Rat chewed the plug off.  You will need to quote the serial number
on the card.  And faster then a speeding bullet, Gilligians Island will return to your lounge room.

Foxtel card entitlement updates work with a minimum of 6 weeks up to a maximum of 8 weeks forward dated validity before they expire. Every 2 weeks your card has the expiry date extended for another 2 weeks (for a maximum of 8 weeks validity) each time using over the air updates.
This means that you can leave your box completely disconnected only up to a maximum of 6-8 weeks. After that time the entitlements on the card will expire and be deleted from the card when next powered up. The card will not automatically update the entitlements after that time no matter how long you leave it plugged into a connected STB with a valid subscription. You must call them up and get them to manually resend your current subscription entitlements with another 6-8 weeks before they expire again (unless you leave the card inside a powered-on connected STB).

This process is adopted to prevent subscribers from using entitlement update blockers and thereby having a card that never gets deactivated. The cards need to have their entitlements expire after a reasonable period of time otherwise they will potentially be abused.
