Hi All,
Been a while since i posted here. I am now in the market for a decent Projector and I have been going through some of the posts here as well as Googling on some of the better projectors in the market.
My theater room is not overly big I would say about 8 metres in length and it is not totally dark meaning there will be some light during the day. I currently have a 65" Panasonic Plasma mounted on the wall but I am seeing more and more great reviews on todays projectors.
I have noticed a few good ones like the Epson TW9000, The Pana AE7000 and a few others. I would really like to get all your opinions on what you think is a good option considering the setting above?
Thanks a lot,
Chuna

You should look at options to reduce light leakage into the room during daylight - any significant amount of light will substantially degrade the image
Without total light control you will want a projector with a lot of lumens.
The Pana isn't as bright as the Epson, even though it uses the same LCD internals (seem to recall it's a different lamp). I think you'll find the group buy price on the TW9000W is mighty good.
Two other projectors that very bright are the BenQ W7000 (new release with 3D - Yorac was trying to get a group buy up, not sure if he made the numbers, but was cheaper than the TW9000W) and BenQ W6000 (run-out 2D only, available for just under $2K from TCC). Both theBenQs are DLP - some people (not many nowadays with the faster colour wheels) see rainbow effects on fast movement - you should check whether you/family see RBE before buying a DLP.

Is TCC actually a sponsor? I know he gets a fair run here with various GB's and meet-ups, but if I were a sponsor i'd want my own subforum, or at least a link on the site somewhere.

Do you intend on watching the projector during the day, or just at night for movies?
If it's the latter, then you don't have to concern yourself with the brightness of the projector so much. In my old house, my set up was in an open plan family room with a lot of glass down one side. I have the JVC HD750, and the lack of brightness didn't worry me in the slightest, as I only used it at night...
Cheers,
Chris

I just recently obtained HC7800D 3D projector and I'm quite happy with it. I hooked up a Playstation 3 to see how well the HC7800D performed with 3D gaming. See clear Concise reviews on Audio solutions.
